impressive? how? two days into the announcement of a greenlit TF2 movie, there was a leak of the treatment on websites everywhere. Bay goes to his site, says "it's nothing but misinformation" and so far, everything we see filmed, and everything we hear, follows that treatment exactly.

Remember back in Feb 2006? the script leaked, and Bay said "Oh, the movie is 99% different. We thru that out months ago, and are doing something totally different!" Everyone breathed a sigh of relief, until the movie came out and it was word-for-word what the leaked script said, with the only changes being a dialog between Megs and Starscream.

Sorry, but by the time X-mas hits, I'm positive we'll know who all the bots are, what the bots are, and probably a script or two will have leaked by then.

Bay will squeal "misinformation," but it'll be truth. Why? Bay's as competent as George Bush.

 

Megatron was "Destroyed in Fire" in the 1st Movie - The fallen is cloaked in flame - I did wonder if Megatron in the sequel is metaphorically or literally "The Fallen".

I'm reminded of how Beast Machines Megatron had his head messed with by the Spark of G1 Megatron in a short story Bob Skir wrote.

I was wondering if as Megatron was defeated by the Allspark and Sam was holding it they are linked and are sharing Allspark visions - basically Sam's seeing Megatron is his nightmares.

I still would wonder if "The Fallen" is just a metaphorical reference to the defeated Decepticons..especially Megatron.

Finally I'm a little disapointed they seem to have not decided to use Barricade again - I'd love to see him again even if only very briefly in a cameo.

I'd not want him to die as he was one of the most interesting things about the first movie to me.

 

Um... I don't see this as really following the treatment we saw too much. There's several key differences.

 

This is the statement from transformers.com that has made me think it is Megatron and not the Fallen:

"TRANSFORMERS: REVENGE OF THE FALLEN began shooting on June 2nd in Bethlehem, PA. While details of the movie’s plot a closely-guarded secret, expect a key character from the first movie to make a dramatic comeback and attempt to settle a score."

From the description the only other bot it might be is Starscream but what score does he have to settle? I don't think it would be any of the other Cons as I don't think they would be considered key characters.

Starscream has a score to settle with the autobots. They shot at him, and destroyed the AllSpark.... he goes back to Cybertron, crowns himself leader, and brings a deathsquad of seekers to Earth to eradicate the Autobots... but unfortunately for him, Prime's SOS at the end of TF1 brings a battalion of 'bots ready to make earth their new home. All the chaos and the concentration of cybertronian life signatures attracts the attention of a certain bringer of chaos planet-eater....

I agree. He could have released information himself via blogs and stuff, but he isn't. And for all we know, no one on the inside has leaked anything. All the leaks seem to come from people sneaking on set and the like.

 

This news is correct. My father works for the new Transformers movie. I already have it on dvd.

 

Until 2 weeks before the movie when they leak all the good scenes themselves in commercials, Letterman, Leno, Morning Show, etc.

The whole "no leaks" thing kind of bugs me considering how much they spoiled the first movie. I mean you're watching tv then all of a sudden BONECRUSHER TRANSFORMATION AND FIGHT. I guess you could close your eyes but by then you might as well watch  

 

Sure, if by "exactly" you mean, "in no way whatsoever". The only similarity I've seen is Sam goes to college, and that was pretty much a given.

I've read the treatment, and aside from Sam being in college and Mikaela being elswhere, I don't see any similarities. In that treatment the Matrix was the big bad power source, but it was located in Las Vegas, and nobody touched it. I suspect that this may be a slight take on that original idea (the 'box'=the Creation Matrix?), but after using the Allspark as a replacement for the Matrix in the first film I think it would be lame to make the main plot point about another Mcguffin.

I see no reason not to believe our lady friend from Philly. And lest we forget, almost all the information we got leaked about the first film turned out to be true in one way or another (true, the Bots had a lil more dialogue and Megs' head was changed). And count me in on the Alice=Pretender camp!

Sure is nice to have the 2005 Boards I know and love back. Speculate away, bitches!

 

Wait I almost forgot they already made Holograms in the first movie... duh on me! So it's possible there could be a chick former on the Decepticon side making a hologram (Alice) to get to Sam. Much like Barricade and Blackout's holograms. This seems plausible.

 

Hmm,   I dont seem to get it.  . Oh well, i don't want to spoil myself much.

so yes i totally agree with you, by picking random songs out of the air we obviously work out the entire point by point plot of transformers 2!

 

Let's not compare dysfunctional movie directors to political figures, please. That'd be technically breaking one of the Board's rules.
