yeah, i'm having a really hard time getting excited about a car Convoy/Prime. Just kinda doesn't work for me. Hopefully we will get some indication of if this is a line or a one-off (ala Sports label/music label) before he's released. if it's a linef i'll wait for a remold to a new character, if it's a one-off i might have to get it.

It really looks like it ocmbines some of the best ideas from Alternators and the movie line into an amazing little piece of plastic.

why would they release a (theoretically/probably) US exclusive character in a (theoretically/probably) Japanese exclusive line  

 

Can't wait hopefully there's more that are released with him

 

Can't wait for Super Fire Convoy.   January gives me more time to put aside cash for it.

Such a nice looking figure. I will definitely be buying this, especially after collecting all the Alts then finally coming to see that BT's are IMO worth the $50 when made with die-cast.

I'll probably buy both colors (Red and Silver) and possibly make a megs. If OP can be a sports car why can't megs?

I do hope they come to the US in plastic and it's an actual line and not just a one off

 

I think it looks great, but I don't see many differences between this proto and the one from Wonderfestival.

Guess I'll be getting both versions, and renaming them.  

In the pic you can see the japanese price is 4725, which is around $43. It wouldn't surprise me if BBTS and other US online retailers increase their prices.

Not really. I was implying the $54 price on BBTS isn't bad at all, when comparing it to the retail price in Japan.

Now, when you go "OMG! $50 for a deluxe!" (a general you, not you  ), it seems like a horrid price, but I'm pretty sure the Alternity is nowhere close to a deluxe, except may be in size. The THS-01 and THS-02 were both almost basic sized, and were also priced at around $50 IIRC.

if it isn't the size of the other binaltechs or altenators then i'm not interested. Also it being prime doesnt sound right to me either unless its a completly separte line.

The only thing I don't like is the placement of the doors. they couldn't have found a more creative place to put them in bot mode?

 

To narrow the chest in bot mode so it does not look disproportionately wide (e.g. the RX-8 BT mold). The center of the grill tucks inside and the two halves close in together. I believe this is supposed to be an automorph feature on the figure.
