There are many posts bashing eBay, and while they do present a pretty easy target because of their practices, I say in this particular issue the blame lays with those producing KOs with Hasbro's logo, copyright information and the like.

That's what Hasbro is fighting, not the crazy colored, odd-sized, Super-Robot-Deformers type of KO.

Or do you expect Hasbro to tell eBay: "we want these KOs with our logo out, but don't mind about the others."? That would send a very mixed message.

Are you aware that the "freedom" you speak of, is in violation of another entity's freedom, right?

Well, that's fucked up. I agree. I bet this was a consecuence of Sellers not leaving feedback for the Buyers even after getting payment.

Doubtfull (sp?). The KOs will still exist ... you should be just as careful now as always. You see, as a buyer, the problem wasn't and isn't the listings correctly identifying a KO as such, but those identifying a KO as an original.

Yeah, of course. That explains the Transformers: Animated KOs.

    QFT.

    This is it.

KO makers have been making free money off of other people's Molds. And they got greedy because they entered the Box Repro market instead of simply KOing molds.

They flew to close to the sun and their wax wings melted. They really have no one to blame but themselves. They took the next step into the counterfeit packaging and we *ALL* saw the Customizing response towards boxes and trademark usage and *KNEW* if they continued down that path that this would happen.

Maybe if people didn't claim to have the right to repro boxes, we would still have "Build-tron robo" or blank white boxes for those KOs and none of this would have happened. There was a balance to the force before and the thing that broke it was the trademarks and Repro boxes that could easily be passed off to the general consumer as official reissues or vintage. KO makers and buyers pushed the pendulum too far and now it is swinging back.
It may take a long time before we get back to how things used to be if ever.

They are going to list them diffrently, there's always ways around it, as for the KO packaging they will get around that too, Since most K.O. makers are going to continue making the packages, you just won't see it till you open the Brown box it was shipped in.

in the listing it'll be listed something like: Willl come sealed in box, Loose figure shown here only.

Infact I recieved an e-mail from a seller that I bought a loose Classics Prowl from and he added a lil something that shows that K.O.'s will be on E-bay for the forseeable future So I went looking for this thread to add this:

While I don't really care too much one way or the other about KOs on ebay, I just have to know, which seller was this? Because if he can actually make accurate Universe Swerves for cheap, I'd think about getting one.

I can completely understand why those Repro boxed style KOs would cause problems for so many people and was never a fan of those myself. But those cheaper, multi-colored, size altered, reduced quality at a reduced price KOs were kind of fun at times. I've never cared for the re-sale value or after market prices of some things, I just wanted cool toys. So if I was able to get a much cheaper, in both price and quality, KO who was similar enough to the original to pass in my book that was a good thing. I would have never have owned a Predaking if it weren't for that $20 KO one and I doubt I'd ever own a swerve unless he gets a cheaper KO of himself as well. But if they have to be taken down along side the repro KOs then so be it.

Phew.... luckily I already bought Universe Swerve. It's on his way here.

But count me in for more of that mold in crazy colors. :D

I love that mold, and because it was in such a limited release, I'm not really against the KOs. If Hasbro released in in Universe, I would gladly pick it up, but we don't have that option.

You're only fooling yourself if you think this means an end to KO's on eBay in any way, shape, or form! They might be off the radar for a couple weeks, but then they will pop right back up, and it'll be business as usual. Some of the wording might change, at best, but that's about it.

I've seen the exact same thing for years now with Oakley sunglasses. The same cycle over and over, but it never ceases.

In the end, all of this is controlled by the Chinese mafia, and while some low-level resellers might get inconvenienced or even taken down, these little actions are not going to stop them.

What's wrong with authentic Insecticons? I like the quality on them, and they're not hard to get.

Edit: Wow, just looking around ebay tonight, and everything ko/bootleg really IS gone.

    definitely--KO mirage misb $40---G1 misb mirage $400+
I had mirage when I was a kid, why would I spend so much just to have him in my display case? I have a few KOs (mirage, cassettes) and the quality is certainly good enough to display. I would rather have the originals, but realistically why should I spend the money for a complete (maybe) G1 figure then have to buy stickers--reprolabels--and possibly accessories just to display? I have 80+ G1 and only 7 are KO. (6 of which are cassettes)
The only things that affect pricing are over-inflation of demand by the "bandwagon" TF fan, and the constant stream of reissues that hopefully will keep coming. I'm not that anal to say IT HAS TO BE ORIGINAL, especially when they are on display 95% of the time.
Plus the boxes/ cardbacks have the awesome original artwork on them and look great on display as well. When I do take some out, they transform and play very well. People need to get over themselves. Till all are one

dude you were selling then and you were suspended!!! you are very odd... you sell the KO's and then say its great that you were bumped and that you can not sell your 100's in inventory

why were you selling them in the first place??

    Ebay:
Not good for business, especially bad for mine cuz it cost me a week.

But good in general, for the community, got to remember I am a fan too!

Bootlegs take away value, no matter how small, from the authentic.

Bootlegs shouldn't have existed from the beginning.

So to answer your question, I am not odd.

From business standpoint, @#$#, especially because of suspension.

From fan standpoint, sweeeeeeeeeeeet, get rid of them all!

I am not selling Transformers just for the $$$, I do it cuz I am a fan.

Some bootlegs got me collecting some original lines, like alternators/binaltechs for example. Some times I get a bootleg and then the original... so I dont think you can say they take away value no matter how small..., in some cases they may add value... unless it is an exact copy like the dinos or metroplex.

In the cases of the odd KO's I don't think it takes away any value what so ever.

And a lot of transformers were copies from licensed toys they bought the rights to in the beginning, so in a way you could call the first releases of Transformers legal botlegs of other bots...

Everyone here is fooling themselves if they think this will last. Its just like the fake Oakley sunglasses, they'll go thru and bust a bunch of them and you won't see any for a few weeks. After that, they are all back.

custom made transformer parts still allowed on ebay

I think tfkingdom has connections on ebay because they allow they to still sell crappy custom made parts. I bought a fort max for 1000 about a year ago and tried to resell it now because I needed money but can't get nearly that and then if I try to sell the parts separately they don't add up. so I looked and tfkingdom sells these horrible ko's for dirt cheap. I remember I once bought a little gun for cog for 150.00 now it only sells for like 12.99 seriously. Why does ebay still let this guy do this. I like the ko robots to have but forget trying to sell originals china has destroyed this market.
