The way they’re going to split is probably going to be different but I get your point. They’ve done splitting gimmicks before and it’s worked. I believe a while ago there was a conversation about how they’d do it if there was a splitting gimmick, one person suggested they should use combiner joints for it and I can see it working similar to that.

I also have trouble keeping my Barricade's shoulders tabbed in place when I pose him.

There aren't any tabs for the shoulders to lock in, kinda sucks since they rotate on a ratchet so it keeps moving around.

Yeah, the hood is supposed to hold them in place but it doesn't work for mine.

Don't get me wrong, i like the way the MPM 3 solves the back, but honestly, it makes the profile look kind of wider than it should be, whereas Barricade's it's sleek:
If jazz's backpack it's like the one in barricade i would be fine.

As long as everything goes where it belongs without using faux parts, I’m fine with a big backpack.

The thighs have a swivel cutting straight through the thickest section, so actually using it to turn the leg any direction aside from straight forward looks super weird and unnatural. The lower legs, meanwhile, have the rear lights come up in a position where the bumpers, even if folded down against the leg, stick out to the sides, making it look super chunky and weird. Especially in comparison to the CG Model where they have more of a natural taper.

As much as they stick out I don’t think it would’ve been worth the extra engineering to make it that accurate, imo it’d make the transformation less fun if they could even do it. Although I have to agree with that thigh swivel, funnily enough I don’t even think I noticed there was a swivel there, which is probably telling of how unorthodox it is.

Interesting, I got mine off ebay without a box. It's supposed to be official but could be a factory leak. I was fine with that considering the price.
Are you able to tell what's different between the two?

It's sad that people seriously want a Jazz figure that splits in half. Just goes to show how little screen time and characterization he got. When one of the biggest things a character is known for is being a ragdoll in two pieces, he was done wrong. How many people are going to want Ratchet to come with removable limbs and a spark, and who will want Sentinel with a hole in the back of his head?

The thing is, Ratchet had 4 movies of screen time which made his death a small aspect of his character. The most memorable scenes of his are the "pheromones" and the "this fool is terribly misinformed" scenes. Sentinel also had plenty of other large moments. With Jazz, his defining factor is the fact that he died a mildly comedic way. There's not much to his character sadly (and a huge fault of the Bayverse as you can say).

I would say Ratchet only had 4 times the amount of screen time as Jazz, which is still what, less than a full minute? Like 45 seconds? The most I ever remember seeing him do was die in 4 and go to the moon.

SorryNotSorry, but I hope this gimmick meets the same fate as Scrapmetal did in the Laurentian Abyss.

I don't want MPs that I spend a crapload of money on to have ridiculous deluxe toy gimmicks.
You want a Jazz to tear in two, buy a movie deluxe Jazz.

I remember a heck of alot more Ratchet scenes than that. I also remember more Jazz scenes, too.

Yeah...I disagree that Jazz's lack of screentime is a fault of the Bayformers. Jazz was not a focus of the movies; his most important purpose storywise was establishing the threat of Megatron. If Megatron could kill a high ranking Autobot, then he could probably kill all of them (he nearly killed Prime). Just because he's "Jazz" doesn't necessitate a full length appearance where he does a bunch of memorable things. I understand if it bothers you that a certain character doesn't have much screentime or didn't do enough cool things (for example, I thought Hound should have gotten more screentime), but that's more of a nitpick than an outright flaw.

Personally, I didn't see Jazz (or Ratchet's) death as anything more than Bay and companies' thought process of, "it just looked cool to kill name slapped characters we really know nothing about".

Then again, I found most Bayverse deaths that way.

The black mamba one has some pieces that are on springs, there is more paint too, the blue pieces are now purple.

It also has a different bigger box!
