Are these easy to find or are scalpers eating them up?

IIRC I remember seeing several G1 Hot Rod\'s reissues during mid December last year.

Everything I've seen shows they're moving fairly quickly as well. They're already gone from all of the Walmarts in my immediate area. And not mispriced either.
I don't think scalpers are eating them up, it's already priced high enough that making any profit would be difficult for them.

Looking for marked down G1 the week, every Walmart was prepariring for big reset in toys which appeared to be for this weekend. If you haven't seen him yet, he should be at your local big Walmart now.

Stores are only getting one case of six right now. Many stores only received one case of the others too. I think maybe they produced far more Hotrods or decided that "urban" Walmarts should load up on them.

Saw them on the shelves at my local Walmart, but the boxes were looking banged up and definitely not "minty" enough to warrant a purchase. I don't like how there's a recycling symbol on the plastic window. Looks tacky. I'd have to double check but I don't recall Hot Rod or Starscream having that..

I guess I'm :horse:  here, but I'll only bite on clearance ($20 or under for me).

Trying to find mint boxes at walmart is like finding a unicorn. Really sucks, because I'm only buying these to leave in box for once

Any comparisons with the original? people are saying the color is a bit brighter.

Its not as bright as the 25th anniversary one is it? That one was almost pink colored.

I saw like four of them at my local Walmart. But I just couldn't justify $50 for longer smokestacks.

No, it's no where near as bright as the pink from the 25th Anniversary release. It's actually not as noticeably bright in hand until you put it up against older releases of Prime.

IMO, they are priced high for an uncertain demand so scalpers move on.

I wish they did a new head for prime like they did for bumblebee, a more toon head would have made me pull the trigger.

Walmart in the city nearby has a handful. This was the first time I saw it in the wild.

Wow... Hard to think that price tag isn't a total rip off. I wanted my sons to have a G1 Optimus for their shelf, but not at $50 with no trailer.

The Bumblebee head is hardly new. It's existed since 2004.

Went ahead and purchased a reissue Prime. Seeing people willing to pay $65 shipped or more makes me think $50 may be the cheapest he'll get, depending on how many Walmart orders. I feel dirty for paying that price. Good thing I take a shower daily.

I guess this maintains my Walmart G1 reissue completion.

I saw 5 in my local Wal-Mart. In person, it looked even more not worth it. I even went and asked a worker nearby if that was actually the price it was getting sold for, and her face contorted at the sight of these prices.

    That's some bullshit.

This is a universe where people are willing to pay $25-30 for reissue minibots that they thought would never be released in the U.S.

I agree. It's too bad the couldn't have used the iPod dock mold. Fairly certain that one had a remoulded head.

Any word on when Soundwave and the new minibots are supposed to be released? Can't seem to find anything about them.

I absolutely love that version of the mold and called it the ultimate version of G1 Prime. I expressed as much on here when it first came out and was roasted alive for loving an incorrect, hideous, anime accurate head on an inaccurate brick toy, lol. I would expect a similar reaction now.
