Just recently picked up Savant and was pretty surprised how thin and floppy his rubber side mirrors are. Are everyone’s like that? Like way softer than the rubber mirrors on the MP Datsuns.

Sorry, it's called a MOTOCOMPO, as it was a tiny 75cc bike that only came with non-turbo models of the 2nd generation. Sorry, I'm a bit of a JDM geek, just playing.

What are the possible issues I could get on this guy? I'm really tempted to get the police version as his own thing, his whole very "typical Japanese cop" aesthetic tempts me deeply

 

Gimpy arms that couldn’t hold up a feather.....BUT XTBs later/replacement run of arms fixed that issue.

Got this last week.

He's pretty damn good. 8/10.

The Good:

• Looks in both forms
• Build and paint (whatwhatwhat?)
• Packaging and box are perfect

The Bad:

• Those shoulders

The Ugly:

• Transforming the arms (both ways)
• Microscopic instructions, just as confusing as ever

Hope to get Herald next paycheck.

 

You think? I think he's ugly in both modes but as he does a good job of replicating Skids and his paint is shiny and sparkly I'm happy with him.

 

I fixed the lights and the mouth on mine, he looks better now.

I took off the headlights, I cut and filleted all the connector back that is what made that vertical black strip look, then I put a white sticker on the back and painted it in yellow with a staedler permanent marker , then I stuck it in its site with a hot silicone gun.

For the mouth I took an X-acto knife and I marked the line of the mouth to have an appropriate shape and size, then painted the mouth with a little white paint.

 

Got around to transforming my Savant today. He definitely looks good in both modes, aside from the mouth. Although, man, the way those arms fold up... I don't think I've got a thorough feel for that yet. Getting them tucked back under the car mode would be a challenge. Though this'll likely be one of those figures I essentially transform once and leave in robot mode forever.

I'm glad folks mentioned the windshield being scary to separate, so I knew to expect that. I also really had to crank the chest down with a lot of force at the end to get it to close up against the abdominal piece. Worried I was putting too much stress on it, but, well... nothing broke.

I do have the loose left shoulder issue, so I might contact the seller (baba) for replacement parts. Good to know those help.
