I find it ironic that the most G1 accurate Optimus outside of masterpiece is a movie figure.

And as far as the review it was better without the audio. I don't care about some one else's opinion on paint apps, I just want to see the figure in action and judge for myself.

 

Wow, props to Tonton taking the criticism and revising his review to undo all of the downfalls of the previous one. It must have been a pain in the ass trying to produce those speech clips and syncing it up with the video.

The figure looks great and even better now with the arm kibble hidden away.

 

This has definitely outclassed Evasion Optimus as my "Best Movie Voyager Optimus"

 

Finally. A studio series prime figure I actually LIKE.

 

Is there places to preorder this yet? I have only seen it on Collecticon Toys but I haven't seen any mention/reviews of the site before this.

I got Siege Sideswipe from them in Dec and it got to me in a timely manner and was packed great so I pre ordered SS38 from them as soon as I saw him on there

I wonder if any 3rd party company is planning on doing a Oversize/remold of this? Looks pretty good, Just don't like the back and the arms mainly

I wouldn't worry much. Movie characters are strongly becoming a thing for 3rd party/KO companies so it'll happen eventually especially with this design become a fan favorite especially with the many repaints they can come up with him such as Ultra Magnus,Nemesis Prime and Magna convoy.

That being said I'd love it if they find a way to make a type of armor for him especially if they did an Ultra Magnus and Magna Convoy repaint out of the mold

 

ToyWorld is doing a movie version Prime, but not sure if it's an OS version of this or their own design.

So I just noticed that SS-38 is not based on his on-screen model, but his concept art (which was teased earlier today). Notice the lack of red in the abdomen, the black/gray parts on the top of his shoulders, the circles on his arm stripes, and the lack of Autobot symbol on the concept art—just like the SS figure.

I double checked the ending scene with Prime on Earth and he has the Autobot symbol and the red ab parts so I know this is not just the case of a difference between Earth and Cybertronian Prime.

 

Right. I thought just so. Now we’ve got some good proof of it. I’m really excited what the other autobots were gonna look like and possibly change into. It’d be a nice hint of possible toys for them.

 

I think I like the concept better. But thats just my opinion
