My Amex got hit up as well. I had deleted my cards previously due to their inability to keep our data safe. Added my card back when Phoenix popped up and a day later I get a charge from some high end clothing store in Cali. Luckily I get alerts on my phone and was able to nip it in the bud immediately.

...was it a newly-entered card at TFsource or one you already had on-file before the purchase?..i was hit twice immediately after saving new cards at TFsource in november and december, and it sounds like a lot of other folks have experienced the same problem...

    Tfsource security

...step one is to call your bank and report the fraudulent transactions: they should immediately reverse the bogus charges, cancel your card, and send you a replacement with a new card number...step two is to notify TFsource of your incident, so they can use the details of your transaction to inform their ongoing investigation of the security breach, and hopefully get their house back into order...

...i wouldn't bother with the police; there's really nothing they can do for you that your bank's not going to follow up with anyway...

...finally, whatever you do, don't use your new replacement card at TFsource until they get the leak sorted: they're advising folks to use paypal instead to avoid credit card issues for the time being...it's unfortunate that they've only been reactive so far in addressing the problem, rather than proactively getting in front of the breach and saving customers all this hassle, but i don't think they've identified where the leak lies in their system yet and still remain a little bit in denial until they do so...

...for what it's worth, i haven't entered my third replacement card at tfsource but i have used it at all the other repeat merchants as my previously-compromised cards without incident, so i'm fairly confident that TFsource are the problem...

It is ABSOLUTELY THEIR FAULT. Tfsource has known for a long time and does nothing to fix the issue. Show them with your wallet instead of using paypal like all of their idiot supporters, and they will get the picture. Going around the issue with paypal fixes nothing, and they get to continue being assholes and let their customers suffer for their lack of customer support. There are plenty of like priced vendors who actually care about their customers you can use instead (toydojo, thechosenprime, bbts if you have to). Rant over.

On topic, hopefully fanstoys sees how many people actuallywant a phoenix figure and put out a few more. I managed to snag 1 for retail and he does not disappoint. 1 of the best 3p figures i own.

Yeah, at this point it is 100% their fault.

Wow. I don't think I've ever heard of a company that has a known data breach problem like this allow customers to continue using their credit cards when they are fully aware of the issue. What reputable business does that? Has anyone made the BBB or some outfit with authority aware of this? Seems like they need to be shutdown immediately until they sort their shit out since they evidently aren't concerned about the safety of their customers' sensitive data. Ridiculous and asinine this is. I would strongly urge people to use alternative, reputable US companies like The Chosen Prime, Captured Prey and Toy Dojo instead.

To be fair, there may be nothing they can do now that the breach has happened. If the breach stole information, it's already out there. Yes, they have the responsibility to fix the breach so it doesn't happen again, and it is up to them to decide how they want to restore purchasers' faith in their e-retailer system.

We take risks with every purchase we make, be it in a bricks and mortar Walmart, or a gas station, or online.

But back on topic, how many reissues has FT-10 had at this point? Two? It's only been a couple of years since Phoenix was released, and I'd say that FT is doing better in meeting demand, though they have a long way to go. I would guess that the supply issue is a result of FT probably not having that much manufacturing capacity to begin with, and most of that has been tied up with Hydra, Hoodlum, and Kup. Oh, and the Dibot reissues. I liked that.

...the problem is that it's an ongoing breach: this wasn't an isolated leak of saved credit card information, it's a chronic vulnerability in which every new card entered on their site is immediately compromised...

...they have a documented problem, its technical source hasn't yet been identified, and as long as they keep accepting new credit cards every customer who does so gets hit with fraudulent charges, often within less than twenty-four hours...

The point is, the breach happened, and evidently is STILL happening; with reports indicating this has been ongoing for years, yet they continue to let their customers fall prey to fraud.

I don't know how a business like that can be allowed to continue to operate, and even more asinine is that they don't take the personal responsibility to address it properly. It shows a complete lack of care to their customers' safety and well-being.

I've known for some time that this outfit has had sketchy business practices in the past (and therefore haven't done business with them for years), but wasn't aware of this fiasco until recently.

Boycott these assclowns and send them a message. There are many other options out there as stated previously that these pricks don't need to be one.

Doesn't anyone else think that if FT is smart they will realise the high amount of demand this has and make another batch? like why does this have to be a limited run

Not to mention this looks like an absolute bargain compared to MP44. If takara makes a akyfire it will be upwards of $400 as well.

Wow, didn't realize this TF-Source data breach was such an issue. I pre-ordered my FT-10X through them. This being the case, if I don't have a card on file, will they not honor my pre-order? Or do they just ask for a form of payment once it's in stock?

FT-10X already had its run increased in size, it is extremely unlikely it will be increased again unless they start reissuing the X variants of their Dibots.

Could use Paypal if you have that. They will invoice you when it arrives.

It’s not that it has to be, it’s simply that they chose it to be.

Wow...I use PayPal whenever possible. I don’t trust merchant sites in general. This is TFsources fault and they should halt all CC sales. If they took the time to encrypt their stored data or http this wouldn’t happen. If it’s code injection they have to halt period...it’s uncalled for and people should not accept the risk. Just think of the bonanza of data being stolen if that site can't even secure a CC.

Because the mentality of "gotta get it while I can" helps to ensure selling ever last one.

Add to it those that feel "limited" or "exclusive" equate to "super special in my collection which is now better than yours..."

Yeah, it's definitely a shitty situation for everyone involved. Their obvious lack of concern is very troubling. Hopefully sooner than later they're made to fix their shit before more people's data is compromised.

On another note, I wonder if this guy will hit before CNY?
