Well seeing as how the Bumblebee movie's number 1 in China right now looks like all of those plans may become a realty after all.

It's also possible Hasbro fires Bonaventura, for leaking plans for their movies like this.

    P.S. I'm joking.

The question is, how are they gonna make beast wars work? Unless they make beast modes mechanical like dinobots, I don't think it'll work. It'll look silly imo and general audiences will most likely won't like it.

People are just desperate to celebrate BB doing well at the first sign of its success, instead of when it's actually proven to be.

The following weeks will dictate if China is a success for BB or not.

Looking at Ravage in the BB movie, I think they could do a great TM Rattrap.

Seeing a Velociraptor turn into a robot with a face only a terrible mother could love and a spinning drill sword would be awesome as well as seeing a giant T. rex with mouth gun, tail club forearm and a gorilla with guns and 2 wicked looking swords. It's like Jurassic Park meets King Kong meets the zoo from hell and that wouldn't look silly to me, that would look amazing.

Or Hasbro productions could dictate these guys either look like Zoids or Transmetals and that would work too. Just no Beast Machines please.

I don't know. The combination of metal with patches of fur/scales could look good if designed right. I've see some fanart that plays with these concepts. The end results look a lot like stuff from cyberpunk: animals with cybernetic elements. It looks weird, but in a good way :D

Jurassic Park meets King Kong is such a great comparison! Or the recent Rampage. Beast Wars could make for such a great monster movie. But they would have to size them up a little, because both Maximals and Predacons were much smaller than regular Transformers. If they were the recent Bumblebee size it could work.

Beast Wars had some pretty interesting designes. A lot of them were asymmetrical and utilised animal parts in clever way. Beast Machines had some neat designes, too. I liked the more animalistic approach to some robot modes. They could however work on transformation sequences :p

    Where did I say "human"?
All I said was those previous character stories were wrapped.

    Was never actively a doubt.

Yeah, that's not going to happen(I get you're joking though!). But other fakes were long ago cut off, not that they were anything more than a kindness gesture anyway. Like you called out early on.

That's something neither Paramount nor Hasbro would argue either. (And it's kinda fun laughing at how far off the guesses and info is to the alleged claims, but still. Almost makes me feel bad, almost. xD )

Non-concern on the Paramount contract either, it'll be re-signed for another 5 years when up for renewal. It makes things easier for now for other stuff. Unless a better offer comes up, but a better offer is a good 8+ years away if at all anyway. Hasbro will probably keep working with paramount until the 2030s minimum. Probably even then, but that's way too far ahead to guess depending on what other things come up by then.

But that's also dependent on other factors too. They make for an easier distro partner though and have decent asset help to make things smoother, and are quite supportive and earnest. Hasbro likes fostering good working relationships though, so burning the paramount bridge is really out of character for them with how gracious, kind, and supportive Paramount's been.

And you weren't that far off. Announcement and when it takes effect are often two different things. And then it's also by business quarters, not standard calendar years. Like how Hasbro's toy license of Power Rangers doesn't take full effect until March/April really even though they had signed it last year and then later bought the franchise outright. That's only meant as a business example of how headline to when contract takes effect are two different things. You'd have to read the fine print of when it takes effect and to which business quarter it started in etc.

Unless of course Paramount goes bankrupt because you seem oblivious to the fact they are not out of the hole TLK dug them into.

oh wow, you acknowledged my response!

one can only assume it's going to be yet another human driven story if we're going to continue building on the hollow caricature that was TLK, no? what transformer driven arc of any significance can be built out of that?

i really hope the knightverse can become a thing and we let him build it rather than using his sincere efforts like a tool to prop up a structure which bay himself admits was "a mess". this is such perfect timing to right wrongs, admit mistakes, and start fresh. there are elements from G1 and the bayverse that can be used in harmony, but trying to maintain the continuity as gospel is suicide!

P.S. when are you finally going to tell everyone who you really are?

No offense... but man... you BW fans are something else...  I wouldn't mind your enthusiasm if I felt it wasn't laced with absolute poison toward G1! :(

Just hearing BW love makes me wonder if it's time to assume my defensive position at ye old G1 Castle! :lol

Your naive enthusiasm is almost breathtaking! :thumb

A movie-verse BW would look more like this:
    mohsin-rajput-dino-1.jpg

    "Why is BW Megatron yellow?"
Because BB is very popular, duh.
"Why does he turn into that Robotech mech?"
Because we improved on the design!

Example? The post you replied to had no ill-will towards G1, and most BW fans are also G1 fans. (did you not notice the G1 Rodimus in her Avatar?)

Seems you've decided for yourself there's some sort of feud between BW and G1, when there absolutely isn't.

    I understand his frustration.

We won't live forever, even though Bee was a good course correction, most G1-ish fans are still hoping we can get a movie with the real Optimus Prime, as seen in Travis Knights rendition with out any connection to the Bayverse, which we see as Michael Bay and Lorenzo's big budget fan-fiction. It's too late to enjoy it in our youth, thanks to Bay and Lorenzo.

Personally I wouldn't be opposed to Beast Wars, I would be kinda sad if we saw Beast Wars done right, while for G1, Bayverse remaining the legacy.
It could easily be done right you just have to get a group of people who love the franchise to make it.

Bay-Lorenzo, came at it hating the original premise, the toys. They sought to distance the franchise as far away from the roots as possible, their original vision was an alien invasion movie, where the transformers were truly monsters. Somewhere along the way they were pushed to making the movie somewhat more like normal Transformers, so what we got were nightmarish renditions of characters we were supposed to be familiar with. I think this was only possible because Hasbro wasn't confident about their IP. I don't think its possible now.

Your naive assumption that that's what movie Dinobot would look like despite the new direction Knight and Allspark Productions took the Bumblebee movie and associated designs is either borderline ignorant or straight up pessimistic.

    Guess what?

I'm a G1 fan, BW fan, RID2001 fan, Unicron trilogy fan, Animated fan, Prime fan, RID15 fan, Cyberverse fan. Although Beast Wars is my absolutely favorite series, I love all the series. Sorry if I enjoy what I enjoy? I'm not sure why you assume it's an us vs them standpoint for anyone who likes a series you don't. But, if you have been on this forum long enough and still hold this view there is no point in lecturing you.

Honestly, I'd be lying if I said that a BW movie is the thing I'm waiting for :p

Even if the movie won't be successful, the merchandise may be. I'd love to have some new BW toys like the ones in the Generation lines. If it would spawn a limited comic series or a new cartoon that would be awsome, too. There was a lot to BW that didn't get much spotlight in cartoon (for budget reasons probably). I'd love to see the cast expanded to those toy characters or more information on the Maximal/Predacon conflict on Cybertron.

    This post is hilarious :lol
I hope a BW movie will take more cues from the creativity of TLK than the staleness of Knight's G1 panderfest.

This logic is hilarious. If you like Transformers only when they try their best at being the least like Transformers, then why not just like some other franchise entirely? I can never understand that about some Transformers fans.

    I agree.

It feels like some people resent the fact the films are not the end-all, be-all of the franchise even after all this time.

See? Even when I encourage "using elements of g1 and the Bayverse in harmony, in a new continuity", it's not enough!

The plain and simple fact is a lot people, on both sides, just want "win/lose" situations. It's a totally unhealthy power struggle based on ego defenses and narcissism. A win win situation would simply be wanting what's best for the brand, whether it pleases you personally or not -- we had ten years of one thing, naturally, it's time to upgrade and change using the best of what came before in a fresh new start!
