All the things supposedly left on the cutting room floor, really disappoints me. Those were all the things that were missing to make this movie feel more complete, more connected. Have all of that (except maybe the kitchen bots, however I do like the reference of the Allspark but enough energy to be sent through the electrical lines to make the appliances come to life? Movie.) and also this "new" direction/vision also take place. The cliff jumper scene felt out of place and he himself looked last minute compared to the duo Decepticons. He has to say his name twice to ensure the fan service. I also don't think they were on the moon as others have pointed out (if so, connection to movie three please???). Ugh. Reading all these changes made me really upset.

IMO, every Bayformers movie is a soft reboot, more or less... since he constantly made up new things to contradict the previous...

The 1st movie, "How'd you know our language?" --- "The world wide web"
And the 2nd movie, "Transformers were on Earth and made people build the pyramids"
Then the every next movie, Cybertronians have even closer and closer connections to human history.......

... or maybe, Bay's Optimus was really that kind of a jerk that tells random lies to these insignificant fleshbags.

Cliffjumper's scene fell perfectly in place with the whole Autobots escaping Cybertron and the cons trying to hunt them down.
He only repeated his name like many real-life soldiers would do under the circumstances of capture- say name, rank, and nothing else.

Also, it was one of SATURN's moons, not Earth.
We are not the only one with a moon, and Saturn has tons of them (62 total, some of which are bigger than Mercury).

Well they all have major anchors to tie each other. Sam's story and growth through out the first 3 films tie those together.

Also, it's not like all these groups were aware of each other. Heck, the Autobots didn't know about the ancients being on Earth, it's kind of the whole point of the film. History is lost all the time, even in real-life, why is that so hard to believe for this franchise?

I mean, there’s just A LOT going on in these films, it’s quick to forget something.

Thank you for the moon correction. I do recall the camera going past Saturn in the film, now that you mention it.

I know why he repeated his name twice, but doing so also reinforces the fan service there too.

I still say the scene felt out of place in that moment in the film and with the two different character designs. Cliffjumper's look felt 1/3 the quality of the duo Decepticons.

    I totally get why we didn\'t see Megatron in this movie given it\'d be a massive plot inconsistency but man, knowing he showed up for a scene (even if he was frozen) makes me really really hope that gets put in as some DVD bonus content. I need to see iiit ; o ;

    That was only one example.
My point is, the movie-verse' continuity is always loose. We enjoy explosions with wearing blurry glasses to dismiss all the plot holes, then the general loose continuity is understandable.
At least, to me, I'm so used to it, and grow to not care if the any of those "sequels" is continuous.
So when I watched Bumblebee, and I found it's actually a reboot, I didn't feel anything negative, because this time I actually had a story to enjoy.
God I wish Travis Knight keep on making new TF movies.

Question: Did the pre-screening version show complete production quality? I mean, CG's fully rendered and composed, there's no grey model or story-boards with voice-over dialogues, no wire yet to be erased ETC.

Having said I don't care if this isn't an actual prequel, I would still love to watch the original version! If it's gonna be released by any form.....

Some cg was completely finished and other parts were very rough and still gray models moving around. I seem to remember alot of the cons was still early but ended up fully matching upnto the final film. In fact i think every cg scene in the rough cut ended up finished and on the screen in the final version which is pretty awesome :)

Would be nice if this version was released on DVD, kind of how like XMen: Days of Future Past had the Rogue Cut released.

Thanks for sharing. Personally I'm glad the final release cut the ties from 2007 movie/NBE1. Seeing Bumblebee as prequel of Bay universe might sound like cool concept but it means a frozen Megatron until 2007, in other words Optimus had landed in 80s but without rivalry for another 25 years. I don't know about you guys but another movie with main villains at Shatter/Dropkick class would seem lacking to me. Hopefully they unleash the beast and travel around the globe next time. Hard for me to sit through another movie of home -> work -> military base -> home. :)

I think they've done enough of that as well, to be honest.

Which is also weird in a way due to Soundwave coming to the earth in the 70s as discussed in DOTM

    1. Probably a nod to the actual agency that was funded for a while to study some flying anomalies. They probably mostly do tracking for spy planes and other such things at first with the added edition of watching for the UFOs.

    2. Assuming that that area is normally uninhabited, since it is forest, my guess was that Bee was landing there to not get spotted. At most they would have found probably a what they would have thought were meteorites and left it to that. But Burns and co happened to be there and thus he was spotted. Blitzwing probably followed him.

    3. My guess is it goes, Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave -as communications officer, and then Starscream. I get the feeling that Shockwave is a ground and field commander, and Starscream is head of the air support. So he follows orders from Shockwave, but maybe not Soundwave as they may be the same Rank just different jobs and Shockwave has Soundwave act as his second when he's in the role of leader.
