I don't have MP Megatron, I didn't really want to tackle that transformation. Does anyone that has Megatron think that this Prime will be an easier transformation? More fun?

I'm hoping it is more difficult. Most likely it will be on the same level.

Don't get me wrong, that MP Megs has one fiendishly difficult transformation - to start with.
Once you've watched some videos of it a few times, and tried it yourself several times (often referring back to said videos!) it actually becomes almost - dare I say it - intuitive!
It's also far less of a pain to transform than some of the 3rd party figures out there (looking at you Apollyon, who I replaced with MP 36; a definite improvement IMO).
MP 44's transformation doesn't look any... worse than MP 36's... I mean, if I have to rely on some videos to nut out the transformation of another figure that looks to be as awesome as MP 36, then I don't think I'd have a problem with that :)
But an easier or more fun transformation? Hard to say. Probably? (He appears less complicated, being that he only has to turn into a truck, rather than a gun).
[Whoa! I better be careful here; I'm almost talking myself into buying MP 44! Fret not, MP 10; I still love thee! Daddy's not gonna do to you what he did to Apollyon! Yet.]

Okay, I want this MP-44 designer to redesign Ultra Magnus and MP-09 Rodiums! Now I see the difference. Magnus needs redesigned to look more like his Movie version.

Other than the height (which doesn't bother me) and the non toon Autobot symbol, he seems pretty toon-accurate to me.

Agreed. I believe MP-22 was the start of the shift to heightened cartoon-accuracy in the MP line.

If Ultra Magnus and Rodimus Prime were updated/corrected, I'd easily spend more money for each than MP44. But they'd have to be exactly what we all wanted:

-Ultra Magnus is a lot shorter, is way leaner and not as bloated/chunky, doesn't have a butt flap, and the backpack doesn't look like an afterthought
-Rodimus Prime MP9 was already pretty close aesthetic-wise, but obviously his fragile engineering would need to incorporate the modern lessons they've learned since then. The sides of his chest would have to be tucked in flush, and his legs cartoon-colored. I'd also want the Hot Rod gimmick to die so as not to compromise the figure's transformation and/or aesthetic.

I also wish there'd be an updated MP28 Hot Rod that doesn't have a pizza box chest, gorilla arms, skinny legs, and a crappy vehicle mode. The MP9 Hot Rod vehicle mode was pretty close to perfect, and that was WITH an optional Rodimus Prime mode. I don't see how they screwed up MP28 so bad.

The hard parts of MP-36's transformation are mostly in the fact that a number of the joints have "resistance" in them, so parts that are supposed to move don't feel like they're going to move until you apply a bit of force. Otherwise, there's a lot of steps to it, but no traditionally "difficult" transformation steps like panel massaging, tight clearances, or unintuitive parts orientations.

MP-44 still looks easier, on the surface, though. He doesn't have to compact down as much Megatron does, so for the most part, it looks like you get wide open space to perform a lot of the moves, rather than manipulate a bunch of smaller parts in tighter areas. Once you get weirder things like how to fold his arms up for vehicle mode down pat, it should also be far more intuitive. Megatron could get confusing in the sense that it was all vague grey-ish shapes coming together to form the bulk of his gun mode, with parts orientation not being immediately obvious if you're not familiar with the shape of his gun mode. Optimus is way more obvious about where all his parts go, with wheels, and whole side and front panels for the truck.

Agreed. In fact, that's exactly where I was going with that line about Optimus turning into a truck, rather than a gun - and therefore making for an easier, more intuitive transformation. The colours and parts look to be much more obvious on Prime.
Megs is one of those transformers that you probably need to come back to every now and again, just to reacquaint yourself with the details of his transformation (especially if you're as forgetful as I am!) Mind you, I can't think of too many other figures in my whole collection that I enjoy coming back to as much as Megs!!! :D

Isn't this the second time you've come in to let us know that you think a toy with a native voice actor is laughable and that you will be buying a different product?

    That's cool.

Yeah, it's really funny when a company tries to sell product to their target demographic. No, they should make design decisions that cater to whiny outsiders instead. That sounds reasonable  .

You did the right thing for her. It's a matter of if she will do the same for the same price?

I think if TT did a redo on Ultra Magnus, they should look to that Magic square type prototype. its got proportions that show it's possible. If this MP-44's designer does it, I bet It'll look great! 2 for 2 for me now. Did he do Sunstreaker?

It's certainly possible to redo him.
now look how good that looks! come on TT. You've Done Prime 3 times now. Time for Rodimus Prime and Ultra Magnus redux. Gotta get that perfect look. and since most of us paid for or will have paid for 3 MP Primes now.. Not to mention MPM and Lt02.. It's time, this is it for Primes for me. I want those others to pose with the Ver 3!

Hmm.. I suddenly wonder, I don't think I have ever seen the Scale of G1 Prime to Ultra Magnus.. in the cartoon. how much taller was he? Was his chest more compressed then prime's or Wider??

Pretty sure I’d rather have an MP-44 than an apple watch. And I’m an Apple user.

Man, I keep seeing “Show Ignored Content” at the bottom of each page.

It makes this particular thread quite the pleasure, when that magical feature does its job.
