Kind of bullshit to re-release this again if the issues weren't even addressed. You'd think TT would be embarrassed of it and want to fix it to redeem themselves. I smell a V2.

This is Hasbro Asia not a Takara release. Takara is most likely done with the mold. This was most likely HA padding out their releases since there was no new G1 mold this year. Same as Ratchet and Ironhide.

True, but don't they have to get the go-ahead from Takara to reissue it first since it's really TT's baby?

Most likely, especially when Takara themselves have never saw need to reissue him after the initial V2.

Well, whomever is responsible for this reissue, my original point stands: they had the chance to fix the problems with the mold, but from the sounds of it, this is just another run of the same old mold with the same issues it always had. Why even bother if for no other reason than to milk the mold one last time before Rodimus Prime 2.0 is unveiled.

Another issue I have with mine is the joint is supper tight when you turn the backpack around when you are transforming him, the long piece between the panels, you want to grab it as close to the joint as you can, you will twist the long piece very easily.

Thanks @Robotmonkeys and @Tazman66gt! He just arrived, but I won't open him today as it's getting too late. Will report my findings with the figure once he's gone through the usual "new Masterpiece figure routine".

Oh I agree, its just kind of hard to blame takara when this isnt their release. In this case it would be like blaming Hasbro for that flimsy Godbomber, when that release was specifically a Takara release.

I don’t get it. Reports from this release seem to be mostly good?

You’re right. I’ve not heard anything disastrous so far.
Mostly good or at least as good as can be expected.

Okay you guys are pretty creative in your fixes. I looked in the rodimus fix forum and didn't see anything for this.
So I put polish on the black shin tabs to Grt them to tab in but the black shin flaps on the sides of the shin won't tab in. Well they don't tab in but they're supposed to hold so it looks cohesive. Any thoughts on how to get them to tame? Like heat gun? Runner bands?

I opened him and did a transformation to vehicle mode and back to robot mode. I don't seem to have any problems, aside for the elbows to be a bit weird.
Overall a solid figure and I'm happy with my purchase! He looks stunning (especially the colors) next to S3 figures.

If anyone has questions, I'll try to answer them. Keep in mind that this is my first experience with the mold.

I think I can speak for all, can you upload some pictures. Make him your muse. Pose him “like one of your French girls”.
Convince @Sam to buy him again.

    YouTube (Handle):
I haven't really touched mine since Friday, but I can say that the backpack tabs in securely enough to be held and shaken without it becoming untabbed. Likewise, he holds his guns without issue in both hands. The shin pieces tab in, but the side pieces are more of a case of being almost there. They tab at the bottom, but whenever I try and clip them in firmly at the top it untabs the front piece (although I didn't spend a long time trying). My Hasbro version is better in this regard. The Hasbro style elbows don't bother me, but then as I already had the Hasbro version I know nothing else... I much prefer the colouration of this version though. He really looks like he jumped out of the screen. The trailer is also pretty impressive and really evokes memories of the old G1 toy.

The main negative for me is the ankles. One of them stays in the correct place, the other likes to spring forward making the height of the feet uneven. I managed to get it sorted by slightly rotating the thighs so he's doing a bit of a wider hero pose, which enables him to stand evenly, but it's not ideal. Again though, I only spent around twenty minutes with him. My Habro version doesn't have this issue. Not sure if I'm going to sell or keep the Hasbro yet...

All things considered, there are definitely things that I don't like and which could be improved, but the same can be said of much more recent MP and 3P figures. If, like me, you mostly just pose and display in a detolf, he's still a decent figure.

Just has a mess around with mine.
And I have to say it's pretty solid. Everything tabs together and holds well as it should. Haven't yet transformed him but seems like it's so much better than the first release I have years back.
Even better than my Hasbro version when side by side next to TT looks horrible.
Really liked this mold, best Rodimus so far. Most accurate to the cartoon and this was even before MP10.
