Strange...because we all heard about voicebox with MP36 and then it quietly disappeared, no one talked about it anymore and nobody seemed to care. I'd rather have no voice, but it is a nice touch when done well...Metroplex was fun that way. But having the Japanese voice would just be weird...and no way would I buy one like that knowing we may see an American release with Cullen. Don't want to have to sell it later.

You do realize this product is aimed only at the Japanese market, just like every other Takara MP release?

The fees should be standard then throughout Canada, not dependent on where you live. HST or brokerage fees, they can justify it however they want but if it's federal, usually it's just HST and there's nothing you can do about it. I just got dinged 40 bux in a 200 item last month...30 for HST and 10 handling charge from Canada Post.

Yea, maybe its the way it's positioned..something about that matrix chamber hatch looks off. If it's on a hinge, a 3rd party replacement with KFC hands set would be cool, to include a basketball, and prime's pistol. I need to see another shot of the matrix chamber tho to really make up my mind.

Incidentally, I want an "old snake" tiny figure for my Decepticon display. Not just Dr. Archevil. There's way more villains in TF G1. Remember the Atlanteans? If they do them I hope they base them on the new spike and sparkplug that comes with MP44. Or that Dr. Wu set.

    Delivery time is 3-5 days.

Beats BBTS free shipping. Besides, oversea retails may not get their stock on time.

Haha, I've been around lurking. But yeah the operative word in that Translation for the skirt mechanism was "AUTOMATIC" . If that is correct then I'm really curious to see how that is implemented in such a small area and if it will hold up over multiple transformations.

The whole thing is incredible. We'll see how I feel about some of the swing armatures that seem to be a feature of this toys transformation. I'm typically not a fan and they feel like something alot of 3rd parties have used in the past as crutches to move pieces around that they couldn't elegantly engineer. BUT I will hold judgement until I have this guy in hand!

So I've seen multiple people in here say they're going to buy 3...Why? I mean, hell, I can understand buying two, and I'd probably buy one if I had any income, but 3? Why?

Just to remind you, when MP-10 came out he was sold out for close to 2 years right from the get go. Waiting may not be a smart option if you do want it and dont wann to $500 plus dollars. I'm just saying I remember the fiasco well..

With those larger, clearer transformation panes, I tried to gif them again :lol  I swear the only part I have to exclude, which breaks up the transformation "flow," is the side panels of the truck folding back. Apart from that, they've remained shockingly faithful to the cartoon, at least conceptually. (Obviously it can't be literally identical, since the Sunbow animation is doing things that are physically completely impossible. But the general position of sections and how they morph to transform him are stunningly inspired by the animation imho.)

I can't wait to see what people who actually know how to do stop motion animation like Optimus Timelord do with this transformation. (Even if they have to cheat a bit, as always lol. That's part of the magic, though.)

That is a pointless justification. These are being distributed via Hasbro Asia (Those with the coin) over here like since MP08 or MP09. And most of us over here grew up with the English voices considering a lot of SEA countries were ex-British colony including HK.

Takara will not break even just selling these in the domestic market. Takara like Bandai knows of the huge market outside of Japan so for decades shops have always been able to import any Japanese collectibles either direct from them or via other indirect means.

Takara really could have just added the option to switch the language. That would have solved the problem of dual language and made everyone happy.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm aware. Just living in China has some benefits and I'm sure to nab one at the right time. I can wait.

TakaraTomy literally does not care. They only distribute toys in Japan. Everything that happens outside of Japan is under Hasbro's purview.

TT makes these products first and foremost for their domestic market. What Hasbro Asia and Hasbro at large does with them after the fact is their business (literally.)

The HasTak relationship, especially with the recent brand unification, is a lucrative and at times closely coordinated partnership for both parties, to be sure. But when it comes to TT's MP releases, they price, plan, design, and market to Japan first and foremost, and consider exports only secondarily. They certainly don't rely on them to break even.

None of which is to say I wouldn't love to see a western release with Cullen recordings. I think every North American G1 fan would love to see that. But it's not like the two are mutually exclusive, or like TT are slighting their (relatively small, compared to their primary market) export customers by not including it. That's Hasbro's job, should they choose to undertake it.

Whilst I fully facepalm with the rest at these silly ‘where’s muh American sounds’ comments, I gotta say I’m a bit surprised that at least Hasbro Asia don’t get their shit together and do Chinese audio for their market.

I mean we think the Chinese regions are a big market, so much so that sometimes HA is even in the driving seat, for example the remaining Seekers and Coneheads, they produce Chinese literature for some of their releases, etc etc. Surprised they didn’t collaborate with TT to produce Chinese audio.

That is, of course, assuming there was even a Chinese G1 dub that Chinese fans are nostalgic for in the first place! That I don’t know - they could have gotten US with subtitles for all I know. And if that’s the case, where’s muh Cullen voices?!!!

The way it seems to me is that the Hasbro Global branches don't have all that high operation budgets. They mostly serve as distribution oversight in those reasons, and may handle regional promotions and such. But no actual production decisions are handled therein. They don't seem to have very much creative control.

The best I can think of were those few odd Asia Premium Series movie toy releases, and the "GDO" Generations releases, but we've not really had anything like that for quite a few years, now.
