Considering it was announced & was shown on display at SGC I would say yes.

A little late to the party on MST Sideswipe. And I think he's a mixed bag. He has great posability. He is maybe the most stable of the ones I have from MST so far. The two nits I have with it are that the spoiler end doesn't seem to tab in tightly and I watched a video to see if I was missing something and the reviewer said the same thing. So either we're both missing something or that's just as he is.

The other nit is par for the course of Sideswipe and that is the way his chest and windshield go together when you look down in bot mode, you see gaps. One of the things I really like about the other MST figures is how their arms and legs, etc. aren't riddled with gaps.

I still like the figure. He's my least favorite of the MST figures I have so far but he's in very strong company.

same feeling here....the gaps bug me, but not as much as his tiny head. he is cool to fiddle with tho and transform back and forth. i wish his chest area would be thicker (not wider) like the upcoming stunticons.

I'd seen enough posts and a video review so that nothing overly surprised me. I like him okay but I feel like based on what else they've done they could have done him better.

The head isn't great but doesn't bug me as much as the gaps looking down at him from above. But it looks like there would be room for a larger head in alt mode. Even the same size head with a broader face would be a win.

Got my Ultra Magnus and finally put him in truck mode. Not loving it. Looks good in its own right but kinda svelt. I suppose he’s been watching his figure so he can look trim in bot mode.

Seaspray and his buddy are just several kinds of awesome in my book. Only wish is that Beachcomber’s blaster had a clip for mounting in vehicle mode like the Dr.Wu custom blaster.

I think I'm kind of going out of order in the MST figures I've gotten. My latest arrived today, the Seaspray Beachcomber two pack. I really like Beachcomber. He's got a nice transformation for his size and he's pretty posable.

I'm less enthusiastic for Seaspray. Not awful, not great. The heelspur tabs just look unfinished to me. More like a part they didn't fold in than serving an actual purpose. It may indeed help his balance but it sticks out like a sore thumb compared to the same little nubs on the other characters. And in vehicle mode there's a gap between his legs that as far as I can see there's no way to fill in. It seems like they could have had a panel flip out from somewhere to make it look more complete. I kept looking under his chest piece to see if I was missing something obvious but I don't think I have.

Given how little they cost together and that I really like Beachcomber, I'm content with Seaspray. But I hope maybe someone else covers him later. Given I like NewAge Bee, maybe they'll hit Seaspray down the road.

Judging from how close their legend class Optimus is to their MAsterpiece,i think their Ultra Magnus could easily translate to the masterpiece scale too (with some improvements and refinements of course)

I've just got my MSUM and I'm amazed at the paint applications - so many bits, so many different colours. It really is a mini masterpiece and blows away MPUM.

So Sideswipe came in and this was my first MS purchase. Honestly, while he looks good in bot mode he is a bit underwhelming in all other areas. The plastic is very thin and brittle feeling, the vehicle mode refuses to tab in properly. The finish is very flat and just doesn't feel as good as my IF/ MFT and DX9 and Newage figures. The head is extremely bland. Hate to say it, but I think I might avoid MS from here on out. For the premium price they ask, they don't at all have a premium feel to them.

    Prime looks good though...

After reading the forum awhile, I get the feeling I'm not as critical/discriminating as some, so take my thoughts with a grain of salt. But I don't feel like Sideswipe is a good representative of what MST are doing now. I kind of went out of order. Blaster and Huffer were my first two figures from them. I really like them both. I think the transformations are clever for their size and they aren't riddled with gaps/holes/etc. Some of the recent Hasbro bots triple or more their size are just warrens of voids. Huffer I'm especially pleased with. But I'll agree Sideswipe is underwhelming. I'm not sure I'd have bought more of theirs if I started there. I don't feel like I'm going to break anything but the back end does not tab in easily or tightly when it does. And in bot mode there's that chasm between the head and chest that I can't un-see. MFT upscaled it and improved upon it. And if I could convince myself that the larger size would fit in, I'd go that route. During the eBay flash sale the other day I looked at MST Red Alert and decided that one of that mold was enough despite wanting a Red Alert. I went for Trailbreaker instead. Other than a loose screw in his chest, most of the comments about him seem positive.

PS I'm almost certain I'll get their Legends Prime and maybe their MP scale one when they come out.

I think Magic Square is the King of G1 based, Legends scaled TFs.
I really hope they do Bumblebee and all 6 seekers.

I definitely think they could improve the Seekers over DX9. If they want to take a shot at the Dinobots and Ironhide/Ratchet I could retire my DX9 figures.

I'd love to see them do the Dinobots and Ironhide/Ratchet. So far none of the current legends Ironhide/Ratchet options impress me aesthetically. DX9's WIP legends Dinobots are damn near difficult to track down and if you find one it won't be cheap, especially Grimlock.

I might give them another shot with Prime. Some of their figures are kinda bland and I kinda want Beachcomber, but his alt mode looks like garbage. I really do NOT like their version of Trailbreaker at all either.

Look wise, in person, their Trailbreaker is my favorite by far. Quality / tightness wise, it is the worst...

Honestly wasn't gonna get it, but in person, even with all the looseness, he is my favorite legend figure, just really looks great in both modes.

I have the DX9 Dinos and am happy with them. The seekers and Ironhide/Ratchet I'd love to see them try those. And I'm not saying they couldn't lure me over with new Dinos for that matter, just I'm not anxious for them.

PS ON the fence about Cyclonus. I think his bot mode is the best I've seen at that size. The alt mode is unimpressive. I'm waiting to see MFT's Magnus who I'd rather was bigger that MST version.

I'm definitely down for a well-proportioned, G1 Ironhide. Way down.

no one is topping the dinobots that exist now. i dont even think it would make sense for anybody to try it. after all both sizes are covered and damn near perfect.
