I'd even argue that the Walmart Rattrap is not good enough to be TM Packrat.

So a 2-Pack TM Reissue with Packrat and Fractly would be freakin' awesome. Then do a 2-pack with Cataclysm and Green Ram.

But isn’t tm packrat directly based on Walmart rattrap? Like the figure was almost named packrat after the guy designing it realized the colors were a good match but it was a day too late to change it (so the story goes) and as a reference to that 3h used Walmart rattrap as tm packrat

I just think aesthetically it needs more gold and white. Less neon green.

edit.. my bad looks like maybe it is a good tm packrat.

That’s fair, but rarely did the colors transfer over 1:1 to the transmetal forms. Hell tm rattrap had no copper on him if I’m remembering right and that was his primary color on bot mode for season 1

I guess it will boil down to whether we get our own line, or are sharing with someone else. There's plenty of fun to be had, though.

On a similar but different topic, I swear I remember reading somewhere that Siege had a renewed focus on scale between the figures. I can't find anything at the moment that confirms that, but if true, it would be interesting if that carried over to Beast Wars figures in terms of a set amongst themselves. What scale do they go with? TV show? Toys? Or a blending of both?

If they went with TV show, Primal would be a different figure class than Megatron. But in terms of a toyline, having the two leaders different sizes doesn't work. This leads me to believe they could blend some scales, and it would actually display very nicely:

    Leaders: Optimus Primal || Megatron
Voyager: Dinobot and Rhinox* || Terrorsaur and Inferno
Deluxe: Cheetor, Tigatron, Airazor and Rattrap* || Tarantulas, Blackarachnia, Scorponok and Waspinator*

1, 2 and 4 on each side. It has a nice balance to it.

Dinobot and Airazor get size upgrades on the Maximal side, whereas Scorponok gets a downgrade. But the biggest winner is Terrorsaur, who goes from a Basic to a Voyager.

Nice! I did a similar thing with MP-28 Hot Rod's chrome actually, I nice metallic silver pen did wonders covering where the chrome had rubbed off his exhaust pipes before I clear coated them. I recently invested in a bottle of pledge floor polish and painted it over the more delicate parts of Dinobot so, fingers crossed, I'm golden (And orange and blue).

I'd love to see proto Tarantulas, proto Dinobot, proto Tigatron, green Ramulus, TM Fractyl, and Cataclysm all find their way into Generations Select.

If green Ramulus sees a wide release I'll do what I said I'd never do, and send mine off to get graded lol
I hope we see the same treatment of beasts for their 25th that G1 did in that regard of reissues.

I hate to keep beating the deadhorse, but no, and no lol
I crave them as they were. I even tried keeping Armada Terrorsaur as he was before I couldn't stand it, and ended up painting him up lol

I would be very happy with the scales that you proposed. It makes since to have the leaders the same size - especially if were talking about brand new molds that don't have to be slavish to the Cartoon. (we already have the MP line for that)

I think the real kicker would be how the designers balance organic and machine details. Personally I want full-on organic alt modes in a mainline again. I feel like making them too mechanical or pre-beast would be playing it safe. I want fur, scales, bug legs, chitin, smooth details - hand sculpted for a change. A departure from all the blocky-ness and computer renders now. I know they have the capability to do so.. we all saw it in T30.

A full line or subline of TM2 inspired designs would also be sweet - I'm thinking of that cyborg look (TM2 Dinobot and Jawbreaker come to mind). Maybe even Generations Select Cyberbeasts?

I mused on the idea of Hasbro using the Studio Series to re-release the TM and TM2 show figures a week or two ago. Instead of that, they now have the perfect line to do it.

So here's this week's list for fun:

It helps demonstrate just how "bad guy"-centric a shared G1/BW beast line could be.

    Picked up these 4 today.

Tor the Shuttle Zord, in box. $50. This thing is huge, didn't realize it would be this massive. Love it. But going to tkae some series re-arranging to fit on the shelf. He has completed my mighty morphin era collection.

Grimlock, Shadowpather and Razorclaw. $35. The yellow on shadowpather is very nice and bright, much nicer then I expected.

I always loved those Takara beast modes, but man some of the robot modes look like someone jammed an m80 up its ass and lit it decided that's how it's going to look.
