Sales could be affected because after KO's of cupola and ironwill came out, now people expect that there would be a much cheaper version of Contact Shot to be released down the road. So they think why spend extra bucks on the original figure?

 

Impressive series of bevels, but restricted by the demands of the MP buying community. Maketoys does more inspired work with their CD line imo. This just seems bland to me; respectfully to those interested. I bit on the Solarflare due to the nature of the crowdfund. I enjoy the designer / buyer interface.

 

I hope these see a 2019 release. I really want to finish off my Headmasters.

 

There was a rumor that MT KOs their own products to make extra money on older molds without damaging their brand and retail pricing.

It might explain why MT is the only company that “suffers” from KOing. A KO company would make more money doing their Seeker molds or releasing new colors of Striker Manus but all the figures have been straight up copies.

This is all conjecture and I have no inside knowledge of the situation. It just seems peculiar.

 

Over a year since we knew about it and no colour proto yet.

Makes me shed a tear.

 

But MakeToys still gets votes for "Best 3P Company" and "Most Improved" lol

Yeahhh. Nope. That's just blind loyalty getting in the way and is a fundamental flaw with these polls.

 

Ive suspected this since the Green Giant KO rumour turned into an official reissue years ago.

Why do that though? MT would be undercutting their own product. If MT wanted to make more money on a mould, and there’s demand. Then they should just reissue it.

It's different. Maketoys had sold all the Cuploas they were gonna sell. Everyone had a chance to get it. At full price.
But then if it is offered at half that price? A bunch of other people who never bought it, and never will, will all of a sudden think it's a good idea to buy one. That's extra money you would have never made.

I think maybe it comes down to the culture they project.

MakeToys has almost always just kept to themselves and done their own things, so they just kinda come and go from the fandom consciousness.

FansToys, on the other hand, comes off as rather aggressive. Always throwing up teasers to compete with similar product from other manufacturers. They force buyers to make a choice, and then those buyers get impatient when FansToys goes silent while everybody else has their stuff out at the retailers already.

not sure if i will cry or laugh, but it is true. Already saw the sunlight of the toilet bot than these 2 hm.
