I disagree. I think the economics is plain and simple. There's just not a lot of people buying HM stuff. Look at FT's Mindwipe. Discounted quickly a couple of months after release.

If we create a graph of the amount of money going to various incarnations/periods of Transformers, I bet you G1 season 1/2 will look like a mountain.

 

What I find odd is MT gets KO and no one's asking for reissues but not FT, since they keep releasing older items...just a recipe for being KO.

 

I dont think the KO's are determined by demand as as much as by what factory the third party uses, and how easy it is for someone to steal their designs from it.

 

I thought it was grand or large demeanor. But that would also be "mien".

FT products are cheap in mainland China. Quietus is around 85. The Dinobots were around 100. I don't believe Chinese KOers can KO FT products at a profit.

 

What about the thought that certain companies are "KO'g" their own products to double dip? No names, but it's happening.

 

I had wondered if FT avoid being KO'd because they have closer ties with a major KO source than MT.

Lower demand for post movie characters is prob true tho. Pity - I really enjoyed Coupa, Ironwill and Contact Shot.

That is just speculation though. I had read that sales of Contact Shot were poor, and I recall the KO being out at the same time. So, we can’t state with certainty it didn’t affect MT’s bottom line. Which is a shame, MT’s Targetmasters and Headmasters have been phenonomanal.

 

Contact Shot has not been KO'd as of yet.

 

I see a bunch of different Optimus toys getting clearenced all over the place all of the time.
Second chance Shockwave and X2 toys Skyfire weren't even considered popular enough to be imported into Europe.
Maybe in that graph the post 86 stuff would look like a mountain?

Different OP toys. But not G1 right? MP-10 has sold out at least 4 rounds. It is what it is.

 

The only non G1 Primes so far are Primals and movie.
I know some people choose to consider IDW not G1, but come on.
If only they would do an RID or UT Prime.
No, most of those Primes are different G1 versions.
There are just too many people making them thinking they will automatically sell.
Same with all the Autobot car MP's.
People buy the new versions and discard the old.

 

IDW is not G1. That's just fact, there's nothing to "consider". Heck, one of the Power of the Primes Prime or something like that looks more G1 than IDW G1.

 

So when are people gonna start complaining about how long Maketoys takes to put out figures. Their apeface is 3-4 years removed from first renders, and now their high brow and brainstorn are over 2 years from first renders. We havent even seen prototypes of galaxy force optimus and megatron. But when FT takes a year and a half tops from render to release everyone LOSES their shit. Now lets flood every maketoys thread with dissatisfaction about the time frame.

It's not Animated or Prime, but IDW is pretty majorly G1.

thats not speculation thats fact , both cupola and ironwil had been sold out for a long time when the ko's were made especially cupola and how could sales of contact shot be effected when its not even been ko'd

 

My mistake. I could have sworn Contact Shot was KO’d. Perhaps MT switched factories? Intersting.
