I'm SURE this is likely a dumb question... but what does the "S.T." stand for?

Nevermind... I think I just found it. "Supreme Techtial"? That's not a word, is it? Ah... it's TFC... I remember a lot of their teases having some REALLY hideous English going on back in the day.

S is definitely "Supreme". As for the T, I've seen places like TFSource list it as "techtial." The box uses "titical." Unless TFC is really fixated on Prime's cup size, I'd assume that TFC probably meant "tactical." Supreme Tactical Commander.

Because the star in the logo covers the gap in the C, though, a lot of us thought the logo looks more like Stoomander, so that's what I'm calling him.

    Same here. Just checked.

I'd be less irritated if it were a $20 figure but it ain't so...

I picked up a couple sets of the little Diaclone guys with motorcycles off Ebay. I received them already with no issues. Here are the listings I used.

    He's here!
Are the Diaclone dudes smaller than a Titan Master? You can kind of wiggle the Titan Masters into some of the spots (loosely), but I don't know if it's just the extra face backpacks or what but they seem a little too big.

And does anyone know if the Mech Fans Toys KOs are the same size or different than the official Diaclone reboots? ShowZ's got some pretty cool MFT stuff that's pretty inexpensive.

You mean the MFT KOs of Takara's Diaclone Reboot? They are 1:1, same size. The only official Diaclone Reebot official items I have are the Diaclone pilot packs and that's because there are no KO versions of them. Everything else I have are MFT KOs of Diaclone Reboot. Better value IMO.

I stopped buying official Diaclone Reboot stuff when they dropped that Big Powered and it was like $280 or something. I'm hoping MFT KO's that.

This Rolling Thunder Prime looks great with the little Diaclone guys. It's on my list.

On ebay I found someone selling a kit of usb led lights for detolfs, it's worth checking out if youre looking for lighting. I think they're based out of Hong Kong. I have 6 of these kits, though I only have 4 detolfs (bought two mistakenly without realizing they're of the "warm" color brightness, now I'm using those elsewhere).

That sound you hear are the bricks Megatron is shitting bricks out of his Deceptishorts.

In all seriousness, though, I've got some complaints. Adding the booties and the gloves doesn't really make him feel like he armored up, it just kind of makes his torso and head look too small for his limbs. His backpack isn't particularly secure, either, and doesn't provide enough clearance for his shoulders. I do like that you can take the missiles off the launchers and stick them onto the sides to make a jet pack, though. I haven't had problems with them in this mode, but the arm connecting seems a little sketchy. And in the "base" modes (all of which are kind of weak) things don't hold together particularly well, usually because of the arm parts (or the fact that the instructions are basically telling you to to just lie some parts next to each other and hope for the best).

Fortunately, while the super mode is a little disappointing, the core robot isn't. The I'm not super keen on the head sculpt, I wish he had painted eyes instead of light piping (something I may rectify myself), and the outward movement on his shoulders is a little restricted just due to the shape of them and how they collide with his back. I wish the silver diecast parts were painted, or done in gunmetal like the other parts. Some things could tab together a little tighter; on mine, his ab-grille starts to come undone when I try to use the ab crunch. But these are pretty minor nitpicks on what is an otherwise outstanding figure. He's got fantastic articulation, loads of ratchets, plenty of accessories, and some nice painted access and tampoed details. The core robot alone is probably worth the price of admission. Instead of associating him with the G.I. Joe Rolling Thunder he could just be a pre-Earth Optimus. As a bot-mode display kind of guy, it's weird to say this but I'm probably going to put most of his stuff back in the box and display him with just his rifle and the little shoulder guns.

The core robot can make for a perfectly adequate alt mode on its own, but he's definitely cooler with all the extra gear. Playability is definitely a thing here. While these are the default positions for everything, most of the diecast weapons can be swapped around. Plus there's tons of seating for those Diaclone figures. Titan Masters... kind of. They're definitely a little too big. You can kind of make them work by bending them the wrong way at the knees instead of at the hips. You can't get Roller closed with a Titan Master, though.

Speaking of Roller, one other minor complaint that I have is that he's fairly superfluous. He doesn't really do anything in either mode. He doesn't store anywhere (you can kind of trap him between ramps in the gap around his robot pelvis, but he doesn't secure in any way). Basically he just drives along, carrying the rifle... which he kind of has to do, because I couldn't find a place to store it in this mode, either.

A few other things worth mentioning:

-On my copy one of the three stabilizers is too loose.
-The cable on the rifle was installed backwards. Fortunately I was able to push the pin out and flip it around.
-The windows on the front can open. The center one is just going to expose his head, though.
-The instructions and a photo on the back of the box imply that the barrel of the rifle is removable. I couldn't get it off, though.
-You can slide one of the big missiles onto the barrel of the rifle, though, in case you want Prime to have a gun that shoots ICBMs.

This is easily the best figure TFC's ever done, although he's still got his faults. In the end, though, I'd definitely recommend Stoomander.

Once I looked at the head in person, I find its fitting for this Prime. I've seen when it was painted chrome by someone and it works, but I do like my Primes to be unique from one another. My copy didn't have your issues except the backpack did have the securing issue.

I actually liked the bulk up of super mode, because I also liked Alpha Pack so a bulked up Prime even one that shrinks his head, well, I refer back to Alpha Pack. ;)

All and all, I like him also. His alt modes are secondary for me (space limitations) so the extras stay in the box by default. I've pointed out prior that he feels like OS Classics Prime.
Though no matrix was something I didn't realize it wouldn't have.

Can the arms rotate forward when the backpack is on in Super Mode?

None of the reviews show it (while they show all of the other articulation), but they dont mention/show that it can not either.

...Im still waiting for a Sleep Mode/Nemesis Repaint announcement.
