Yay, more basics! I love G1 Wheeljack so this was a great episode for me, and an excellent overview as always.

This basics makes me realize how much I adore that original G1 toy design. Kind of squat, hunched, with long monkey arms and a pair of pudgy black cannons propped on his shoulders. I mean, the cartoon-design is a great look that made him stand out from the rest of the cast, but there is a lot of character in the anatomical flaws of the toy. I also love the image of him with the wrenches. I've always found Wheeljack to be one of those guys from G1 that are typically more developed in fanon than canon, but dang is he just fun to look at sometimes. I mean that alt-mode? Come on, that's some good shit.

Episodes tying into Siege and Bumblebee, you say? Well, speaking as someone who correctly predicted the subject matter of last year's Halloween episode, I think I'll try my hand at divination again to see if I can guess what December's Basics will cover...

For the Bumblebee movie tie-ins, I'm guessing we'll get videos on Triple Changers and Blitzwing. With at least two major antagonists changing two vehicle modes, and Blitzwing himself seemingly set to be the Big Bad of the film (unless he really is Starscream and we're just seeing a return of the "misinformation campaign" tactics from ROTF and DOTM's promotion, but I wouldn't get my hopes up on that), it seems to be a no brainer that we might see these two subjects pop up, unless you plan on throwing us a curveball. Apart from that... not much else we know about the movie that would warrant an episode of its own, as far as I can tell, except the concept of human allies in general, or maybe on Optimus Prime himself, which admittedly would be topical, with not only his seemingly minor role in the movie, but also his story in IDW recently concluding alongside the universe itself, but I'd still file that away in the "unlikely" category, considering how dense an undertaking such an episode would be.

As for Siege, general series concepts I'd bet on Chris covering this month would be Targetmasters (perhaps expanded to cover the general concept of Transformers who turn into a weapon wielded by someone else, like G1 Megatron and the NuRID Weaponizers) or Micromasters (which admittedly has a bit of overlap with Mini-Cons as a concept, but is a distinct enough subject in its own right to carry an episode), or perhaps Seekers, tying into the return of the classic tetrajet designs in toy form. The individual characters from the line I'd see getting an episode would be Sideswipe or Hound, probably the former, as I've noticed he is a frequently requested topic.

But aside from that, there is one topic in Transformers history relevant to both Siege and the Bumblebee movie that I would honestly be surprised if Chris has not at least considered it for the month's subjects: the Great War itself. Given how it's the whole focus of the Siege toyline itself, and there looking to be at least one scene in Bumblebee devoted to the war on Cybertron, if there were ever any time ripe to talk about how the Autobots and Decepticons have gone to war in the first place in different continuities, now would be it.

Well, those are my predictions (well, not so much concrete predictions so much as "a bunch of shit Chris might or might not talk about for this month's videos"), so time will tell if I've guessed any of them correctly, or if I've been completely off base for this entire post.

I have to admit that I learned a thing or two based off of these videos. Great job.

As always Chris you make an episode about a character with little to work with an interesting and fun to watch video. Just like the Beachcomber video. You teach me something about a character I never previously cared about. And sense were on a subject of undercover characters can we see a Doubledealer episode?

Also in the coming in 2019 video I am very excited! But I feel like I know who the silouates are. I feel like one is Whirl because it looks similar to his art in dreamwave comics Transformers character guide. I feel the other 2 are Roadbuster sense he is an Autobot deluxe vehicle along with Whirl so it would make sense to do a video on them around the same time. Also I think I see a seeker character. I don't know who but I feel like it's Thundercracker.

I watch your channel ALOT, and eagerly anticipate your videos! You male it so I don't have to do hours of research on a single character! Your videos are fast yet informative!

Edit: Finished watching the Punch/Counterpunch video. Good as always! You said next week we will look at an Decepticon of short history. And with my beliefs of it being a seeker character I think it's Acid Storm or Sunstorm.

I know you have the basics video on Combiners, but do you intend on eventually doing videos on some of them individually? If not it’d be something I’d definitely love to see. I really enjoy your videos man, keep up the great work

The Aerialbots deserve a video. The other combiner groups are kinda uninteresting. Breakdown and First Aid seem to be the most developed.

And... Acid Storm was the correct answer! I would of suspected Sunstorm because he has a much more in depth history in the franchise, but Acid Storm is cool too! I don't have patreon but I can't wait!

I would love to see another "art of the Transformers."

With the Seeker among those silhouettes revealed to be Acid Storm, it's down to one of the Wreckers on WarPathGuy's list to be the remaining episode this month. Interested to see which one it is, but for what it's worth, Chris has said on his Twitter that he's having a major lack of visuals for the character in question, so if I had to guess (and after my clever tactic of "throw enough guesses at the wall that one of them had to be correct" last month, why stop now?), it would be Roadbuster, because at least Whirl has being a major character in one of IDW's most successful books going for him, while I seriously can't name a single story poor Roadbuster has had a major role in other than Sins of the Wreckers.
