If you look at the cgi model, the tail in dragon mode is made of 9-10 pieces while in bot mode there are only 5-6.

i like the toy purple parts that you used instead of going with pure show look and the hidden hand is such a plus in my book, keep up the good work.....also

i look forward to Tigerhawk in the purple dark repaint, rampage, depthcharge and if you're feeling really balsy i'll take a big convoy in nemesis ver. either the takara black and gold or the hasbro universe either color scheme works for me

Meh. I like my original just fine. It\'s nice, but it\'s a pass. 

 

as others have said.. I'm not keen on the face choices either. There's just something off about them.. hard to put into words. Maybe its just the show accurate body with the non show accurate face that makes it stand out so much.

still unsure if I would go in on this due to space reasons... but damn it does look nice in color!!! I love all the subtle hits of purple.

 

I'm curious to see if an actual production sample of the faces would look better. Since they're renders, it seems like maybe the shadows are more pronounced than they will actually be. Particularly with the lips.

 

so all I did was hit the bottom of the eyes with a little bit of a shadow in photoshop.. and then add two small dots for pupils.

I think it makes it way nicer looking straight away. I don't know much about toy making but it seems like this could be fixed with 2 additional paint apps. Perhaps the cheeks where it meets the eyes could be chiseled out a little bit to add this shadow too.

I don't claim ownership of anything.. just a fan with photoshop who loves toys lol

Yeah, that improves it a LOT. Like, it's easy to forget the lips will look less pronounced in production plastic, too - you don't want them to be quite THAT soft in the molds.

 

Great touch up work! Hopefully "if" they improve the face it will be similar to what you done.

 

The fact that they even posted here is a good sign, honestly. Shows they're aware of the response.

250 bucks! Is this a Soul of Chogokin figure? For that price it better have lots of diecast and feel like a high-end figure

 

I’d have zero gripes if he turns out like that.
Look like JX shouldn’t have too hard a time perfecting the likeness now if they do infact take onboard the constructive criticisms.

 

I want the opposite, get rid of the diecast where it's not needed. I want it to be an excellent figure instead of "feeling like one".

 

diecast in feet for stability at most maybe some in the legs since we know that dragons are typically back heavy because of the wings and strong ratchets in the joints and we're golden like his disc

 

Neither of those discs was his. He stole both of them.  

 

possession is 9/10s of the law, it became his when he stole it
