I think I'm the only person who genuinely wants this.

I would totally buy one. I have no connection to Armada or even the UT , in fact I thought it was all super boring and the kids super annoying but I buy ever Armada/UT figure they release cause they just look cool. I wanted a Sideways Groove retool!

Not yet, but that won't be an issue. I was actually waiting for the order to still get fullfilled but I'm just going to cancel and hope Hasbro will reinvigorate the pretender series.

The PotP ones were surpisingly cool but in the end still limited. I think they need to take that to the next level. I wouldn't mind deluxe shells and micromaster bots (if dictated as such by budgetary constraints).

Yeah. I hope they do something more ambitious for the Pretenders in the future.
And for the Primes for that matter.
Would love some articulated mega-pretender style updates for the likes of Octopunch, Bludgeon, Pincher, Skullgrin, Submarauder, Waverider, Landmine, Bombburst and the original mega pretenders Thunderwing, Vroom and Crossblades of course.

The club has given us more Diaclone based decos. That is reason enough to miss them.

Not a solution for people who hate stickers of course, but I feel that's where Reprolabels could provide a service.

The Club produced fringe items half of the time, and the other half of the time they ripped you off. It wasn't a Club that did a good job of knowing what the fan base as a whole is interested in. Very hit and miss. It was very niche and dominated by the wrong crowd. They made lots of overpriced garbage which is why it took them forever to clear their inventories when they closed down despite low prices. Once third parties arrived, making wholly new figures that actually resemble popular characters for the same price as a repaint that barely resembles said character, the Club was doomed. Shattered glass alone was nothing more than a cutesy diversion from what fans really want. It's kind of mind-boggling to me how bad the whole deal was looking back. We have to be careful as a fandom to remember not to be so desperate to just have anything because without standards, you get the Club.

Things have never been better since they are gone, minus the joke of a Hasbro convention. Hopefully BotCon can resume, but the Club should never be reborn anything like it was.

There aren't enough stickers to make Deep Cover out of the Universe Sideswipe mold. By Diaclone decos I mean the ones that are head to toe recolors. I'm not talking a "Convoy" sticker to put on an OP trailer, I'm talking like the Botcon 2 pack with the black Skids and red Hoist. THOSE sort of redecos. If Hasbro would find a way to slip more of those in, even if it were two packs that were exclusives, I'd sing their praises. As it stands, FunPub did more to scratch that itch than Hasbro has, and even Takara is bypassing those decos in Generations. I shouldn't have to start collecting MPs just to get my Diaclone fix.

Enlighten me. What do "the fans", whom you presumably speak for collectively, really want?

I must've forgotten to take my pills. For once I agree with G1 Prowl.

(Granted I miss Funpub's Beast Wars toys more than the Diaclone homages)

Also, a collector's club is the exact place where "fringe" and "niche" items belong. Some of my favorite funpub toys are homage to incredibly obscure characters and concepts. Like Oilmaster, Carzap, or Serpent O.R.

    I think I may have a solution.
    Weaponisers.
Do a normal cw style 5 bot team. And make dude number six a weaponiser. That breaks down into combiner kibble.
    Let's take Monstructor for example.
Birdbrain as a Voyager torso. Scowl, Icepick, wildfly and bristleback as normal deluxe limbs.
Slog as a weaponiser. Break him down, fold his robot legs in on themselves and you have Monstructor's feet. Use the main shell of the beast mode chest/head as a chest plate. And break what's left of the torso in Half to make the hands.

I reckon similar arrangements could be made for Piranacon, Landcross, and Raiden.

I don't necessarily disagree with that, but the problem is availability or rather price.
    For non-US collector at least.
I don't mind having to join a club to get, say, the autobot targetmasters, but shipping from the states would ad half the price and import fees would double it.
A perfect solution would be for Hasbro to do less popular characters as online exclusives at a mark up, like the Monsterbots, Punch, and Takara's Big Powered set.

Seems like a good opportunity to repaint one of those prime masters and pretender shells for just that purpose.

that would bump the price to $25 or more (using the amazon prime wars exclusives as an example) and we know from the listing that he is $20, so no, ricochet will not come with a primemaster or battlemaster, he will be a straight repaint of jazz
