Wtf? First I went blindly all in w/Quietus bc I thought surely it will at least surpass Eligos with the alt mode tabbing in completely (nope!) ... this at the very same time I went all in blind w/MT’s Godbomber thinking no way could it be such a sloppy mail-in effort as the Takara LG release ... all this after picking up a MP Dinobot with fucked up shoulder ratchets ... getting just dick-punched repeatedly by this hobby is crazy - I thought toys were supposed to be fun! ;(

I bit disappointed with the plastic quality. Stress marks from just inserting the cannon. Also Bomber's helmet is glued a bit wonky. Not super noticeable unless looking real close. also one of the arms are a bit lose when connected to the feet for God mode. I'd say overall its better than Taktomy God Bpomber but that's not saying much. I love me some secondary robots powering up the leader so I had to have it (as nice as the default Divine Suit is) but I can see he's not for everyone.

I don't see anything falling off. Mine has a loose ab crunch but that's it. The crotch armour for combined mode isn't loose t all. It does get in the way if you bend his legs back to far but that's it. its not like stuff just falls off for touching it lol.

Fans Hobbys aesthetic might not be everyone's cup.of tea but they sure do make the most solid, hefty, brick like figures I've ever handled. I have confidence in them.

Yeah, but that’s because they based their ginrai on powermaster prime.

Yeah, I'm not the biggest fan of the way they do their faces but Archenemy is the sturdiest figure I own--plus he has a faceplate, heheh. I mean, Archenemy also only cost $120 and he's my second biggest stand-alone Decepticon. Fans Hobby is amazing, they should be able to knock Godbomber out of the park. Maketoys...eh, they have the looks down, but the materials they use in some of their figures are just sub-par. It's a shame, they really know how to come up with some great designs, like this one...

    Is the shoulder cannon/rocket removable?

Yes. He has sockets for two and you can use both Thunder Manus's cannon as well as Divine Shooter's cannon at the same time if you want.

Just got this guy today - if you didn't like hinges for the wings on Toyworld's Brainwave, this figure will make you cringe. I'm not fond of the hollow back/kibble-tastic 'lots of tiny hinges connected to (relatively) large pieces of mass for a back pack', the wings at the shoulders get in the way of the arm's range of movement, and I'm not sure about the choice of having a chromed part (the trailer's front end) fold up against tabs that might scratch the chrome off (when you transform from alt to bot).

I didn't like the way the forearm pieces that God-Bomber shares with God Ginrai snap on with a 'c' clip. I could imagine this getting stress marked - or breaking - after repeated transformations It was really hard to attach to GB's forearm. The other thing I didn't like about the forearms is that they seem disproportionate on God Bomber - kind of like Poppey forearms.

Finally, the right thigh on mine seems to be assembled without much care - the two (?) pieces that make the thigh are not quite 'snapped' together all the way.

On the positive end, the aesthetic is nice, and Maketoys does make posability a priority with the CD line. Also, the figure has a nice amount of weight to it. And I am glad I have Divine Shooter standing next to Thunder Manus on my Super-God Masterforce shelf.

To be fair I don't design toys, so I don't know how this would be done better (I'm not saying it couldn't be done better, I'm saying after I'm done with my 6 day work week and my thoughts are fried, I don't know how it would be done better. And like some posters have mentioned, I'm excited to see how Fans Hobby handles God Bomber). And I knew about the look of the (hollow, kibble-y) back from watching reviews, I just didn't realize how much of a... shock isn't really the right word... things are always different in hand, that's what I'm getting at.

After seeing this and the Takara version, I wonder how challenging it must be to design a God Bomber with out making it hollow and parts former-y (the later being in reference to the transformation of God Bomber from robot to trailer).

I'm disappointed that this figure didn't wow me as much as Thunder Manus, mostly in terms of design, but I'm still glad to have the figure - if that makes sense.

With all that in mind, I'm not trying to tell people to stay away from Divine Shooter, but I wanted to share some initial impressions so if you choose to purchase it for yourself you'll know what to expect.

Have a great day of robot toys, everyone :)

p.s. I'll post pictures at some point to illustrate what I'm talking about in the post.

Those hinges in the middle need to be moved simultaneously, and they are tight out of the package. See the hinges behind the shoulder - those limit arm mobility.

The next two pics show stress marks that happened within an hour of opening. The marks in the first pic - on the grey plastic right above the chrome part - are more noticeable in hand. In the second pic, the mark is at the center hinge.

This is just to show how hollow the back is. The front end of the trailer - on all those hinges shown above - folds up at a 45 degree angle to 'fill in' the back. I'm not a fan of the way it looks.

Here you can see the way the right thigh isn't popped in all the way. Compare with the gap-less left leg.

Despite all the complaints, I'm glad I got him. The whole CD line has a great aesthetic, and Divine Shooter fits right in (though the DX9 Carry mouth and Poppey forearms don't win me over)

With Thunder Manus. If any of you are wondering about size/height, DS is about as tall as a TR Voyager.

Finishing up some pictures and jut anted to share something... ankle rockers on mine were insanely tight and squeaky but two drops of shock oil on each and working them back and forth for a few minutes killed the noise and they rock much more smoothly.

It’s weird how despite the problems with this MT set and the Takara LG release ... something about Ginrai all pimped out in supermode just attracts me like a moth to the flame ... I guess I’m an Optimus whore at heart! :)

The Full Review for MakeToys MTCD-04 Divine Shooter is up. Link in sig (if on mobile, switch to landscape to view signatures.)

Article goes into depth but overall it's a decent piece and definitely the most fun God Bomber figure out there. A "good" figure which really could've been something special with a bit more fit and finish! Here's a few pics from the gallery (Approx 30 pics:)

I go my divine shooter and I think it’s the one with less issues. It even has the tabs to store the weapons.

Edit: So after playing with the toy, I can say that I like him, but there were definite major issues.

    1) So parts are way too tight. I afraid of breaking some things....

    2) They really should’ve added some thrusters in the hands.... They went out of their way to make some things accurate to the source material, so why not make it more distinguished?

    3) The individual robot mode is cool, but the floopiness of the main body can be frustrating.

But what really gets me is.....

    4) The crotch armor..... You know what? No, how the **** do you not fix the worst part of thunder manus?! You tellin’ me that you can make new parts, but y’all can’t put hinge/ball joints on the crotch armor?!?!?!?!?! AndjdjsbisshbejrjdsjzhkJvHhvsjshssbkzbJznz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Overall, I’d give it a 7, maybe a 7.5. I had fun with it, and unlike other third party god bombers (if they exist), and takara’s God bomber, I can actual play with the thing. It’s just a shame that the divine armor for thunder manus already exists and they didn’t accommodate the feet on thunder manus to work with the divine shooter for better articulation. Should people get? I’d recommend it to people who want the robot itself. As for the combination, it’s gonna depend if a person values the idea of two robots combining. Otherwise, you pretty much get the same amount of articulation. On plus side though is that at least the playability options increased.

Perhaps one day they’ll make a upgrade kit. I’d do it just to get a better crotch armor.

Mine holds together pretty well and has tight joints, with the exception of the ab crunch which isn’t LOOSE but does move a little more readily than I would prefer.

Easy solution to the giant forearms:

    A9412456-8A5B-4319-A512-209E1A54EE75.jpeg

Just pop off Godbomber’s forearm nubs that clip to the gauntlets, pop the hands off of the gauntlets, pop the hands on Godbomber’s wrists. Same exact mushroom peg connection points. With the modular nature of Cross Dimension stuff maybe this was intentional. He’ll, maybe it’s even in the instructions. I never look at those. :)

I haven’t tried transforming him yet so I don’t know how it’ll affect alt mode.
