Aren’t they just “resellers”? I’ve never met a scalper, so I think they are imaginary.

 

There are scalpers. Usually people that pop into retail stores, buy entire cases of product they absolutely aren't interested in but know that they're first run, or hard to find, and then immediately pop them up on eBay an the like for outrageous prices.

But a fan either buying two of one item for their own collection and then later deciding to part with one for whatever reason, or simply attempting to get a second for their own collection because they want to display both modes or have a MISB version or whatever? That's not anywhere near being a scalper.

I CANNOT believe I missed pre-ordering FT10X. This figure looks awesome! Due to lack of funds I've been staying away from the boards so I wouldn't be tempted to order anything so I missed the news.

I know retailers did stock some extra FT 'X' Dibots when the preorders arrived so my hope is they will do the same with Phoenix.

Just because you are not scalping does not mean you are headed to a happy ending   In fact, had you scalped no 3 to no xxx, you might be headed for a nice vacation, in which case, the marriage will probably be fine.

 

When does the X version drop?

 

January. Supposedly. I am guessing April. FT has Hydra, Hoodlum and then this. No way it's going to happen.

 

Over here, he can get mad at me. I preordered two as well and I already have two of the original.

Besides, I thrive on internet hatred directed at me... like them being mad even matters.

 

I bought a few extra copies just to wade into the ‘selling TFs online’ hobby ... figured this was in demand enough that I wouldn’t get screwed like I usually do when I try to sell stuff online ... if my efforts fail, I’ll just give one to my bro for his b-day, display the other in alt mode, and keep the third one as a MISB crown jewel ...

They do but that's because they are limited to x amount of units. Only a fixed set amount will be produced at one time. Once they are sold out that's it. No more. As a result the price is more justifiable.

 

Can this X version be pre-ordered somewhere besides BBTS?

 

I reserved one just in case it turns out I like the deco better than the original, so I won't have to pay scalper prices later on. This is the state of 3P collectorship FOMO  

 

Whelp they're all sold out everywhere. Thanks fanstoys for pushing the double dip on your customers, and then making the better version impossible to get anyway. Similar to what Tony Stark told the Hulk, "dick move, fanstoys."

 

They were available for a long time, I only don't have one because I'm not a huge fan of this figure but there was a lot of time between him being on pre-order and selling out. FT made it clear that the X version would be (like all theirX versions) a limited release.

I see nothing wrong on FT side, I know it's hard to hear but you were just too slow.

 

This is my unicorn. Favorite character and toy of my childhood. I just got back into 3rd Party + Masterpiece TFs this past year and wavered on the pre-orders for the X version as I was worried about the multiple shades/finishes of the white paint in the photos. (In addition to the red chrome, which I'd prefer not to have.) But now everything is all dried up and has been for awhile and I don't know if I can wait around for the re-issue of normal Phoenix. I'm sure it's too late but I figured I'd ask: if anyone has info on how to get in on the pre-order, I'd greatly appreciate the assistance.
