Oh jeez maybe I'm wrong. On another thread I said hasbro missed the shopkin bandwagon like 3 years ago. Lol

Its an interesting thing with older companies I think. The innovators become set in their lil ways and seem to hafta play catch up to market trends. I could be wrong though?

Yea, I'm interested to see how these play out in the long run. On the other hand these would have made epic happy meal toys.

Hasbro hasn't ever been much for innovation.

GI Joe was just a Barbie for boys.
GI Joe A Real American Hero was just a very belated response to Star Wars.
Transformers were acquired molds from Japan.
The stories for both ARAH and the Transformers were created by Marvel.

I'm curious what they'd look like "invading" Fortress Maximus, Metroplex, One of the third party Omega Supreme toys or Trypticon's base modes.

I'm looking forward to the Siege Omega Supreme. I'm going to litter mine with BotBots and MicroMasters. :)

LOL. In most cases, the older companies are stagnant, resting on prior successes like you said. Hasbro has just never been an innovative company, apart from their media partners breathing life into their toys to such a degree that they remain actively engaging for generations.

The BotBots are Hasbro's third "at bat" with tiny Transformers. Granted, these are definitely more whimsical than the original MicroMasters or the Minicons as a result of the success of Grossery Gang and Shopkins, but the original MicroMasters were a direct result of the sales success of Micro Machines. (Which Hasbro now owns.)

Many of us remember how well Micros and Minicons sold when they were new. This is just this decade's version of tiny Transformers.

MicroMasters were half the product line, but still used Optimus and Jazz in the TV spots. Minicons were the central story point of Amanda. This will also be the first time at creating a space within the overall lore just for them.

Even if they fall flat on their faces, we're getting a lot of fun little toys. Almost as many BotBots in Series 1 as there were Minicons. That's still gonna be a lot of toys to enjoy.

Got the techie team over the weekend: soda can, VR goggles, pencil box/eraser thing, game cartridge and Burgertron. Sorry, Burgertron is the only one who's name I cared enough to remember. All are an absolute delight and I see myself with a giant bin full of them six months down the road.

I'm not familiar with micromasters, so thanks for the "mini" history lesson. :p

I don't really think they will fall flat with botbots. They've even been popping up on the mlp boards I frequent. Because as you know, fans of one hasbro property are more often then not, fans of another property, and even some people who aren't interested in transformers thought they were cute and were considering getting some for the kids in there family.

Kids will be interested in these too, and they are likely to grab the attention of Shopkins/Grossery Gang fans.

Not to mention how many people seem to be onboard with them here. :)

The MicroMasters vehicles and playsets are obviously more combat focused than we are probably going to see here, but they've certainly done big transforming accessories for small Transformers before.

Imagine these with a shopping mall theme. Kids will go nuts for them.

Scanned the barcode from one of my Amazon 5 packs at Target to get the DCPI: 087-16-9373. Checked Brickseek and nothing in VA yet.

In which they may possibly encounter the legendary creature...Barbie.

A big one would be good. Would it transform like metroplex?

Grandus would probably be the best choice. He's basically a box with shoulder articulation, but his chest opened up flat to show a multi level MicroMasters base.

Yes! Something Grandus-like would be perfect.

My opinion is they're just too folded to take good pictures of. But my skills are lacking. I think the poster is in one of the other threads.
