That's an ugly plane, though I'd take the movies dragons into consideration even if I do hate the looks of the movie characters

I don't see the problem with the alt mode. It looks fine to me. Head sculpt needs work, though; Or at least that's what I'd say if I was ever going to have him unmasked, which I'm not.

Same. It just looks a little unfinished, which it IS. I think UT might have another hit on their hands here and I'm excited! What I'm NOT excited for is the fact that it'll probably be another 10 months before we'll have this figure in hand.

Do you guys just choose to ignore the huge feet and hollow calves stuck to the underside of what are supposed to be flat wings? I just don't understand the obsession with Rendsora. Upscale a figure and the acceptable flaws just become glaring. This one looks to be a big improvement.

I agree. It was a really awesome design aesthetic that was wasted on the worst movie.

I think this one has the face change gimmick. Plus the no-mask face looks to be more detailed and proportionate, but it's hard to tell at this stage as it also looks unfinished.

 

SO does he also have alternative heads/faces or just the one?

Definitely their best looking movie bot so far. I am utterly amazed that they managed to actually get such a perfectly proportioned out of that jet mode.

 

I love the chain connecting the gun to his arm. Damn, this is going to be really tough to say no to...

 

Looks great but I need to stop getting excited seeing how it could be a long wait for this guy.

While not yet shown, I assume he has a battlemask mode/ extra head? Can't imagine that being forgottent about after all the alt faces Prime came with.

 

It'll make it at least better than mpm optimus, cause even though that thing has forward hip ratchets, it doesn't have them outwards

Also for those who said earlier in the thread that ut doesn't learn, this figure is a prime example of the opposite. From what I can see of the exposed joints, they're a lot more sleek and accurate to the movies than their previous figures. Where challenger has these blocky elbow and knee joints, dragoon has definitely improved in the knee and elbow joints, especially the knees to make them look a lot sleeker. They've also added a lot more molded detail all over these figures making them more accurate. One gripe I do have however, is that the detail often isn't deep enough, meaning that it comes off a rather hard to see under low lighting.

 

Considering we're mostly harping about moulded detail depth at this point, I'm thinking UT has another success in the making.

Guess I'll start saving for when the pre-order goes up!
DOtM Megs was my favourite design, but this.... this a work of art and I'm not missing out on it!

 

I agree about the mechanical detail lacking depth, it was a pet peeve of mine with the previous two releases. With this though, i'm less bothered since this Megatron looks more like a guy in a suit of armor rather than a robot.

 

UT said something about a HUGE special "thing" as a bonus for the first batch but I don't know what it is exactly... some suggested Infernocus and Devastator, but UT said it's not any of them.

or maybe just something cheaper & they just want an effective hype machine.
