    Quality of craftsmanship...
from the odd coloring choices and slightly dull/not-sharp molding around the hilt and the blood channel on the blade,
it doesn't look like what Hasbro would typical produce. Besides, knowing Hasbro, there's no way they would paint the
sword that much anyway--and why should they, most people would gladly take a solid gold piece of plastic as a "freebie"...

It's the Hasbro flagship store run by Hasbro China.

Oh it's serious. You can use Google image translation to find out for yourself. It's a $30 pen to write on the $30 notebook that came with their Volcanicus "boxset".

Yeah, no thanks. The sword with DNA set looks hundred times better, because it's metallic gold in color, you know, like it was shown in the official printed material, the original toys, and also, because, you know, like a real sword too.

Oh the irony of having imported a Predaking from China and now this sword comes out.............exclusive for not here.
Somebody KO this sword already, I like it better than the other 3P ones that is vastly overpriced for a chunk of plastic. It's got more a of a toon look to it (like the actual robot toys do) and being I like actual cartoons this sword looks like a good real cartoon sword and thankfully nothing like a real sword.

Would be nice if some company would make his lightsaber already...

Yeah, DNA's size and (potential) paint job do make theirs look better. Plus, it can be broken down when the Predacon's aren't combined.

    1. It’s a toy, they have to follow safely laws meaning it can’t be pointy. That’s why the end isn’t sharp

    2. It’s colors are based on the predacons itself. That’s why it’s colors are like that and not just gold because there’s no gold on any of them and not just yellow they wanted it to be flashy.

    3. They have done this before they did it with fort max and his sword. Yes that sword came with SDCC and takara but takaras predaking was identical to hasbro to the brand sharing now and there was no other form of release of predaking. If they had made warriors unite or legends predaking he’d probably have that very sword but all gold or all yellow.

Why are all the details and edges so smudgy and soft? It looks like one of those foam Nerf swords instead of a solid piece of plastic

I kind of assumed he already came with a sword.

That's just sad: $160 for a G1-ish combiner and no sword. I dunno... I can sort of understand it's cheaper than 3P, but it's also got no bells or whistles. :sly:

I.e. if you went ahead and bought a 3P accessory kit for this (as is becoming necessary for most Hasbro combiners :rolleyes2 ), then your price is popping up to $200+.

I'm just not happy with these business decisions to leave out a crucial sword and force you to buy a new set. :banghead:  It's kind of shifty. I know we don't NEED the sword... but it's his signature weapon, isn't it?!?? :mad

The sword was never crucial, though. Predaking used one once, and it was more of a lightsaber. Only the G1 toy had a sword, so the PotP set not having one wasn't an oversight or a mistake.

Official transformers weapons are also for kids and they look better than this.

But it's not just the design. The whole texture looks kinda weird. I've never seen that texture before except on Nerf type swords. Tell me that sword doesn't look like this. Like in texture and design style I mean.

I ordered one of these through Hasbro China's TaoBao site on Single's Day. Did anyone else get one? This is the first time I've ordered from TaoBao.

Got the Predaking with Sword from Hasbro China today.

Here are some pics. The sword doubles as a pen too.

It doesn't seem to match? The sword is more yellow-orange, and a "rose"-er red, than the actual figures are. Did they contract it out to a different factory, and not "run it using the same plastic as the figures used"?

It's made out of a softer rubbery material. Probably so you don't hurt someone if a kid stabs another kid with it .
