I agree, that the watch looks ugly. And I happen to love the designs of several other G-Shock watches. I wish that they made one that looks like the matrix.

Agree on this as me too use my cell phone to keep track of my time but on another hand, some people just prefer to have a watch on his/her wrist

 

I get it if your on a rap video trying to flaunt your "iced out" Rolex, but from a practical perspective it makes zero sense. Especially when the same watch guy is quick to whip out their iphone and walks around with earbuds everywhere.

 

1. When you work out, it's much easier to look at your watch than whip out your phone. I can see a treadmill, but any other mobile activity, a watch makes more a lot more sense.
2. When you're in a crowded metro train or bus, you don't have the space to whip out your phone, so you look at your watch.
3. In a meeting, it's often rude to be on your phone, so you look at your watch.
2. As a personal experience, having a Rolex helps me tremendously in social work circles. I'd say having an expensive watch is one of the top 3 icebreakers in meetings behind travel and sports.

It's still very practical to have a watch. A hell of a lot more than to collect plastic toys if you want to go there.

I get some of your points. Although I would question why someone who uses a rolex to help close business deals commutes on a crowded bus or train...For me personally watches have never been practical after high school. Digital clocks everywhere including the right hand corner of every desktop computer screen. And then theres the cell phone. Thats just me though. I wouldnt even go there about comparing the practicality of a watch vs buying toys. Ive seen wealthy people do lots of impractical things just because they can afford it. Transformers statues are the appitimy of impractical.

 

Because you're inexperienced when it comes to NYC. Millionaires take public transit. It's the quickest way to get around most of the time.

 

Been to NYC...they be like take the E train. I be like which one is the E train ? I still wouldnt be wearing a rolex in a subway with all the homeless people and tr3way bloods running around. Hope you packing heat, but then again they dont allow that in NYC legally either.
