Well as I said earlier, I'll take the lack of articulation of this line. I'm not the one to complain about mainline stuff (or maybe you're using my post to make your statement about the general reaction of fans?) and I am actually quite content with what is being offered.
And don't forget the randomly battle damaged thighs, toes, shins crotches, insides of forearms only and sometimes chest plates, lol. XD
People are actually complaining about articulation in what looks like one of the best articulated lines of the last several years?
Jesus, I know, right? God, I'm not even buying many Siege/WFC2.0 figures (MAYBE a quarter of the entire trilogy) but the QUOTE, UNQUOTE "LACK OF ARTICULATION" is just ridiculous. The fact that we have side ankle tilts PRETTY MUCH STANDARD across the line IS A FUCKING MILESTONE compared to what we were getting six months ago. Jesus, the lack of forward and backwards ankle tilts is the VERY least of my problems with Siege and has nothing to do with why I'm not buying (nearly) all of it. God, the TF "fandom." Give us ANYTHING good and we'll still find some way to try and shit all over it. (As said by someone that isn't buying most MPs and mainline stuff anymore.)
Not me. I never saw anyone asking for it in the first place. Don't know how they came up with the idea it was gonna be a hit.
Somebody probably saw some nice customs, saw the great response to them and thought Hasbro would love it...... Too bad their version of it looks like paining errors from the factory (which, now that I think about it, really helps Hasbro's bottom line when every accidental smug can be "BATTLE DAMAGE!").
Looking at these pictures again reminds me of how pretty the Siege packaging looks. I can't wait for these to hit shelves.
So far the battle damage has been great. Wait till they're in hand, cameras seems to over expose the damage sometimes.
Hound looks good. Sideswipe looks good. Prime and Megatron look like they've been rolling in shit. I've seen some in hand, those two look like they had accidental paint smudges all over them instead of how deliberte it looks on Hound/Sideswipe. I guess I just expect more from Hasbro then the "bottom of the barrel" they tend to give TFs compared to their other toylines.
These look incredible. Have prime and cog on preorder. The battle damage doesn't bother me at all. Bring it
Fortunately, these paint apps are in places where they're directly on the plastic and not some other paint app, for the most part. A little bit of acetone or alcohol should remove them without permanent damage. On figures like Flywheels, it's actually not that bad. It's more of the sides, rather than front and center. I know why Has/Tak chose to do this, it just wasn't quite the success they were hoping for. It's removable, fortunately. Oh, and they listened to the customer complaints. Sideswipe is covered in paint so all of his reds match up, even though a good bit of his backpack is translucent smokey plastic. Before, they'd have color matched as much as possible and then called it a day. Not here, they've been taking a page out of the TT MP playbook. It works.
Yeah, these are a serious step up from the drek that Hasbro usually just knocks out but I have seen plenty of Megatrons on pegs that have "battle damage" on places like his face, which I believe is painted. My point is is that they did good with most of the other figures but Prime and Megs look sloppy and inconsistent which their "battle damage" shotgunned painted on them.
I know if one example where Meg's has a splotch on his face. I believe it's a defect, because I'm pretty sure that Prime and Meg's have stamped wear and should be identical per figure and thus not sloppy or inconsistent. He does have some paint on his helmet, it's consistent. Here's several Megatron figures from different places.
