I think some other people have done some interesting analysis on the lyrics that make it fit well. Also I don’t think comparing this to Welcome To The Show is a fair comparison. Believe me I’m a veteran brony.

I've been listening to the song for several days now, and it's neither grown on me or gotten worse for me. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but I was hoping it would click for me like Torches did after a few listens. This song still has yet to.

I think people were just expecting something with a bit more of an '80s vibe to it. I definitely understand that the song needs to feel like a Hailee Steinfeld song, but I think they could have had a bit more fun making a retro-style song. There are plenty of other artists who do it.

If anyone wants a nice visual to go with the song, I sure know it helped me get into it:

Anyways, yeah I dug it. She has a good singing voice, liked a few of her other songs before.

Who said this story was about warring alien robots? We already know this is not a story about their war, its about our love for each other and how that applies to this mythology. Would you fault a Beast Wars movie for having a world music-oriented score, though the cartoon mostly had a rock-ish score, when that's, in theory, what thematically makes the most sense for a film version?

    Another message board.

Right, a picture she had taken professionally to be released publicly makes me a creep. You know she has a song about masturbation, right?

And she's in her 20's, what's your point? We're not supposed to find attractive people attractive?

I mean I guess but like that’s not your decision. Like I don’t really see the issue here.

I had no idea she'd gone into modelling. I mean I saw her first in True Grit and that was.....2010 so she was like, 13 or so when she made that movie. Still, she grew up very beautiful.

"Love Myself"? It wasn't on my mind until you mentioned it. I always thought it was a song about believing in yourself. Now that I looked at the lyrics properly... I'm rolling on the floor laughing. How did I miss this? :D

I’ve never heard of most of her music until this song dropped and just from reading that title I get the idea lol.

I'd prefer an alternative or rock song, but this is fine; I'm indifferent to it.

Death metal seldom works with Transformers. Then again, it's all up to personal taste and opinion, but for Bumblebee, I really can't see it working at all.

You're missing the point, entirely. And a sad state of affairs doesn't justify the lack of creativity. The post clearly states that artists both do it and implies that it can and will continue to be done. Moreover, you're right in that it's a minor issue; the core issue is that the song itself is garbage.

What is your point? Songs with the same title don't display a lack of creativity. It's perfectly reasonable and predictable that native-English speakers would use the same words and phrases to convey their thoughts and emotions. Where is your proof that this is somehow wrong or bad? I've never heard someone make this argument before in my entire life.
