Finally a Con close to me! I\'ve been waiting a few years for this. Now it\'s just 5 miles from me. I hope to see and meet all of you that can attend.

Wow, if you're determined to hate Burbank, I can't stop you, but I'm going to enjoy this convention.

Looked at last year's schedule at Chicago and it's not bad. I'm only going for one day and I wonder which day would be best.

This Con is practically in my backyard. If you're not used to traffic like LA, better fly into Burbank. I'd avoid the 101/134 interchange. That one is worse than 101/405 at times but terrible if you hit both. It's not life altering but you will need a car in LA so bring some tunes.

There are a lot of people in the LA area, so that's a boon to the Con attendance, but...

What's with all of this, "Finally! A Con in CALIFORNIA! It's been AGES!" :lol  :lol  :lol

No offense, but the best Con of all (SDCC) is in CA, and before that, you had Botcon almost 99% of the time. And those are JUST the big ones: I'm certain there are plenty more local, small events in the area!

There are literally hundreds of cities around the USA that would be interesting to host TFCon at. My perspective: you can do these things in LA every year and never see the world, OR you can rotate the Con around the country and explore a little! :D

Was Louisville, KY the best location for the last Botcon? Probably not, but I enjoyed visiting a new city.

Leaving aside the obvious exaggeration of BotCon's Southern California frequency, I am unaware of a single Transformers-centric non-BotCon in Southern California in the past decade.

Yes, we get lots of other conventions. SDCC is certainly an example, but that's an entirely different thing.

Visiting a new city is certainly a good thing, and I've done it myself for several BotCons. That's no reason to expect those of us who live in Southern California to have to do it every year.

We get TFCon here this year. Deal with it. I'm sure it'll be back east soon enough.

So, if TFcon USA 2019 is going to be all about a G1 reunion, does this mean we might see a Beast Wars reunion at TFcon Toronto 2019? Perhaps followed by an Armada/Unicron Trilogy reunion at TFcon USA 2020? Then an Animated reunion at TFcon Toronto 2020? OMG! That would be fantastic! Especially the Unicron Trilogy. Not so much for the Transformers series's themselves, but more so the actors in there and what else they did. Like for example, Brian Drummond, who was Blurr in Armada, Shockblast in Energon, and Jetfire and Jolt in Cybertron (as well as Jetstorm in Beast Machines), was also the original voice of Vegeta in the Ocean dub of DBZ and reprized the role recently as the evil purple goo Vegeta in Super! BTW, by that logic, why the slag didn't Ian James Corlett reprise his role as Goku by playing Goku Black in Super too?! But back on topic, yeah, there's a good number of voice actors who were in the Unicron Trilogy as well as DBZ and a lot of other cartoons(mainly dubs) from our childhood.

I live in SoCal, so I guess I have no excuse not to finally go to TFCon.

As much as I would enjoy themed reunion years, I'm not sure how well that would work. Certain series might not create the fan draw like G1 or Beast wars does. Besides that there are still so much more G1 and beast wars voice actors that have never been to a con.

Actually, in that vein, I know that, in the BotCon era, one of the reasons for the comparative frequency of Pasadena (specifically in the LA area, as opposed to the San Diego BotCon) was because it was easier to get voice actor guests, because so many live in the LA area. My Canadian geography is pretty poor, but is TFCon traditionally able to take advantage of similar proximity to the significant pool of Canadian voice talent, or is Toronto on the wrong side of the country?

To add to all this, SDCC isn't exactly easy to get into. Yes it has a good couple hundred thousand people attending each day, but that's from across the entire world, and with a much bigger audience than a TF-specific convention. Most people that attempt to get in, don't. There is no special exemption for badges or hotels for California residents. Anyone suggesting Californians are spoiled by SDCC suggests most of us are able to enjoy it every year, when we're definitely not.

Toronto is a showbiz hub, but I I'm pretty sure the majority of the talent associated with Transformers who are still in Canada live and work in Vancouver. Which is, very loosely, about as far as Buffalo or Detroit are from Seattle.

Certainly the kind of thing I was wondering about. I actually DO know where Vancouver is (unlike the rest of Canada).
