Testing movement of front and side skirts.

Testing ways to attach these skirts without relying on screws and pins I don’t have. Looking to be snap-in-place connections.
    Printer tolerance giving me difficulty.

Still working on aesthetic and design of it. Does incorporate an added waist plate, adds about 1/4 of height. Not looking too bad though. Got to do another round of redesign....:)

    Update: I can upload video!

Well this post was intended to share a 360 view video (20 sec) but I guess even 3 sec is too large of a file to upload:(
*Unless someone can advise a better way?

So here are some screenshots on the video and pictures with better lighting to show show-off the print detail. Nothing final...still testing part connections, clearance, tolerance, print quality and aesthetic look. All work in progress :) .

No real updates just wanted to share the video but couldn’t.

    Thanks!

I tried using a “metallic sliver” filment....but it looks like shit. The sliver was more of a dark gray and the metallic flake made the prints look like it had a grainy, salt and pepper texture look? Weird.

I was hoping it would print as a more white shiny sliver and unified. And there is no off-white to match the existing color.
Unfortunately painting will be required for these parts :(

    How tall are you now?

    AE051731-4F94-4ED7-86D1-A890C9860D73.jpeg

So here’s how tall he measure with the add-on waist parts. About 10 1/4” to the top of this mohawk. Didn’t really want to make him any taller, but I got to admit.....the add-on waist and leg cover really balancing his proportions out:)

Still testing prints, hoping to finalize in the coming weeks.

*if these add-on waist and leg part set interest you, I wouldn’t mind taking a head count to determine if I should consider doing a production.

    Please let me know me
    Thanks

I’ll want a set. Idk if I’ll use the whole thing or a combo of pieces, but I will definitely want it regardless

Hey @transformer_78 , can the thigh pieces work without the new hip skirts, or will they interfere with the original skirts?

Also, if you’re taking design feedback still, I think the added parts on the side skirts will hinder side-to-side movement too much. Would you consider removing those or no?

I haven’t tested that look yet as I currently have the existing skirts off. But I’ll take a picture for you.

About the side skirts, nothing is final. Still exploring and testing ideas. The goal being the parts help with enhancing his articulation :)

And thanks for the interest. Got one head count.

I’ll split into two different sets, but both are meant to work together aesthetically.

Hey @transformer_78 when you have time, could you snap a few pictures of what this guy looks like without the thigh pieces but keep the waist upgrade on? Thanks

Here you go, as requested.....no leg covers with waist upgrade.

Definitely needs the extra mass on his legs to balance his proportions out. I like how the leg cover gives him a more muscular/ heroic look....those skinny legs just doesn’t do it for me :)

A+ for those pieces man. Very cool looking.

I always thought he looked a bit lanky. The stuff you created really helps with the overall proportions.

You had also asked about a kneeing/crouching pose awhile back, I thought I posted it. Anyways yah he can still do it.

The front and side skirts are on a pin hinge, so they hinge out of the way as needed depending on the pose. Something that the original front skirts either looked weird or hindered the legs from doing due to the front skirts being attached to the thighs.....and the lack of a real waist/mid section.

Yes, I’m quite happy how he is turning out. The 3D parts have definitely helped achieve the aesthetics/articulation I wanted to achieved with this figure....which I felt were lacking.
And to think if it wasn’t for this tread....I would have never considered jumping doing 3D parts :)  and here we are.....

Thanks! Still in the works. But once it’s done I can make them available for sale for those interested.
I did it initially for the shoulder add-ons I did:
Shoulder Articulation Add-on Set for GCreation Ultra GDW 01 - Ultra Maxmas

Because of the pin hinges, I’ll need to provide pins and a new screw to connect the upper torso to the waist upgrade to the legs. So I’m hunting for the necessary hardware and adjusting according :)  And debuting whether to make available unfinished or paint them....not there yet.
