These guys are looking pretty good. I'm still on the fence with them though. Takara was too expensive and I didn't like kbb's or ym's (why the KO companies didn't just freakin' KO the actual figures, I still don't understand). These aren't unreasonably priced but the coneheads are more of checkboxes in my collection rather than characters I have fond memories of so it's difficult to justify the commitment to buying three of these guys at $120 each.

That's high enough for me, and high enough to cost me another chunk of change. Kind of wondering why MT went for the molded thrusters on the front of the calves on these Coneheads instead of the recessed/painted ones they did on the Seekers. Is that some kind of thing from the toon model that I don't remember? MT should have but the molded ones on all of them, IMO, but I'm happy to see them here, even if it does eat into jream's business a bit!

It would be ridiculous for these not to include null-rays. They are obviously trying to go "full toon" on these & to not include them would baffle me.

They had the protruding shins in the toon. So that’s nice

I am still a little pissed at Maketoys for the corners cut on SW and TC but I don't think they are going to make the mistake on the null rays. I think they will include them with all three Coneheads including their signature weapons that we have seen. To me this is just like including the bomb attachments for the null rays on the original three.

I'm cautiously optimistic that they'll include them They copped a lot flack for the hoollw wings and flat shins on the original Meteor mould and have gone to theeffort of fixing those points in these (though see my point below abouyt the shin thrusters). Hopefully Maketoys realise that they need to do it right and not cut corners. Ironically the big selling point of these guys is they're super toon accurate, and as far as I can remember, the coneheads always had the standard Seeker arm cannon in the toon? The missile pods were more of a toy thing so it makes even less sense to skip the cannons.
But, I am still being cautious. We all remember how the first prototypes of Meteor had solid wings, and they ended up changing it later. Just because we saw a pic of the cannons on one of the coneheads, there's nothing guaranteeing MT will actually do that. But I hope they do. If not, I'll be relying on aftermarket add-ons.

They skipped the shin thrusters for the Seekers as I seem to recall it wasn't generally there in the toon. The character models and any screen caps I can find all show Seekers (and Rainmakers) with flat shins.

It was a toy detail, and as mentioned above, these guys are HEAVILY toon influened.
The Coneheads on the other hand, tended to have the shin thrusters - they're definitely there on the character models and were usually drawn in on the toon.

Arguably, shin thrusters on Coneheads and flat shins on Seekers is completely toon acurate.
Here's a perfect screen grab to demonstrate all the above points - two Seekers and a Conehead in the one shot and they specifically drew the shin thrusters ONLY on Thrust. And all three have standard arm cannons.

Yeah the hollow wings and non-rolling wheels on the Meteor mold was a big corner cutting let-down for me.

The other that disgusted me was the missing paint details on the front clip on TC and SW and even painting the nose the non-toon color on TC. Less so the clips on the back stabilizers. I can fix it but it screamed we are just getting these done and don't care because we are out of G1 MP.

I might be mistaken, but didn’t someone awhile back post that you could alcohol swab the nose cone on MT’s Thundercracker so he has a blue one?? I scrubbed off the silver paint on my original Walscream to reveal the blue underneath and that was one of my all-time successful mods! (kinda said ain’t it) :)

It will work for the nose but then I would need to gloss it. The separate issue is the clip that holds the nosecone and hinge on the side of the cockpit that were left grey because they wanted to save money. Those are parts that I will have to paint. I am a lot like you in that I try to stay the hell away from paint.

    Nah:
"Note: Anyone who books a customer in this store can choose to order (RM11 Red Spider, RM12 Thunderbolt, RM13 Skyscraper Fourth Party Wings Kit) to book the customer accessory package for free, and deduct the deposit paid now. [Scheduled a pointed tip for free to send a fourth party kit]"
If you buy the MT Coneheads from that particular TaoBao store, you have the opportunity to add one or more of the wings kits to your order. Not entirely sure how the pricing works as Google Translate is confusing but they offer multiple options - the 3 individual Coneheads, each coneheads with the wingfiller, a set of all three Coneheads with the wing fillers, and the wing fillers seperately. There seems to be some kind of free or discount component as poart of ordering the wings as well.
It's pretty clear that MT will be selling each set of wing fillers as seperate items, but this seller has cleverly decided to offer package deals with one or more Coneheads. Nothing stopping folks from buying the wings seperately from this or other sellers.

This is actually pretty clever for me. I probably would just skip the wing fillers as it's a minor gripe for me. I really don't want to pay an extra $20 plus shipping for each of the wing fillers and be out upwards of $70-80 bucks. But if I'm already getting the Coneheads and I can throw in the fillers for an extra $10-12 a pop, that's an easy upgrade.

Everything is free domestic shipping so if you pre order and add the wings, I think the wings are discounted over buying them seperatly. Discounted by 20 yuan (from memory, I looked an hour ago). So maybe save $4 or so.

    Wings 60 yuan each
    conehead deposit 30 yuan
    Conehead + wings 70 yuan

    Or something like that...

EDIT: Just checked the prices, and those above are correct. Plus shipping of about $12 AUD for all three (thinking all three can't be more than 1KG) you're looking at about $50 AUD for all three, or $17 each.

The Maketoys Taobao store confirmed these fillers can be purchased seperately

Granted MakeToys is doing the Coneheads and they do look nice but for me personally I managed to get 3 perfectly fine Coneheads out of the ToyWorld versions,so I will not upgrade mine with these.

I was super close to picking up toyworlds. Even had them Pre-ordered and paid for with Premium Collectables before PC went rogue (and ironically Toyworld pretty much went rogue shortly afterwards!!).
I still like them but they were always a little tall for me and my collection is now heavily on the toon accurate side so MT’s clean lines and lack of excess greeblies is a better fit for me.
But it’s kind of ironic for me that Takara’s official Seekers and Coneheads are far and away the worst option.
It’s funny, when the official only crowd goes on about how terrible 3rd party is and how much better the official products are, bring up MP-11 and the best they can say is... “they’re good enough for me and I’m fine with it.” And these are the same folks who rave about how great the official toon accuracy direction is and berate 3rd Party for not fitting in.
I get that some folks hate the toon accuracy trend and therefore dismiss Maketoys Seekers, but it baffles me how folks can rave about how amazingly toon accurate and wonderful MP-36, 39 and the V3 Prime can look and in the same breath defend MP-11... baffling.
