If you feel like u want a g1 deathsaurus, just remember that kfc is gonna make one, and it will likely be cheaper than the continuum version of D-zef
    Just something to consider

idk but we believe a Red Gheist for Continuum ver. since the toy did in the 80s, as for the other 2 they can be creative

KFC has burned me 2x i'm not buying anything else from them, plus i'm not fond of their MP aesthetics i'll keep my eyes on development but being their dragon is way out there i'm not concerned

Oh yeah that’s the inspiration one that TFwiki lists. Whatever else though? Maybe some kind of Tokusatsu kaiju like radon or something.

Maybe Onyx Prime? It couldn't be a purely IDW design w/o serious retooling, but you could do a pretty decent homage w/o too many new parts.

Go back to page 30, and you’ll find lots of ideas like Mecha Godzilla, the Geno Saurer—and its repaints, Geno Breaker, Berserk Fury,The Green Dragon Zord, Trypticon, RiD Grimlock, BWII Galvatron, Dyna Dragon/King Gridman, and a chicken from the Battle Beasts or the Ultra Mega Chicken from Aqua Teen Hungerforce... and I know I’m forgeting some others cartoon baby chicken, so, uh... there’s more laughs in there if you do some digging.

I feel ya, and would love an Onyx Prime someday.

But, if we’re going same deco, then I think the Grungust actually fits D-Zef’s proportions better. Jump to 1:09 below to see the Grungust’s Transformation Attack, featuring Wing Gust and Gust Lander~

Hm. I guess MMC's looks denser overall, with PX's having less of the pointy bits that the Milne design appears to have. But maybe that's just the angles it's photographed at.

Neither of them have the Beast Mode arms up on the shoulders like the comic model.

    Ooh that should be cool.
See I feel onyx is already too much like deathsaurus already so it’d be a bit redundant.
Ooh those sound cool. Mainly mechagodzilla and BWII Galvatron.

I lean initially more towards darker decos like Geno Saurer (Raven), Trypticon, or the Green Dragon Zord.

MechaGodzilla felt tame at first, but the more I think about how much I liked big G as a kid, the more I feel that could be nice. Granted, I don’t know if MMC would go in for something like Sentinel’s Godzilla x Eva Shiryu or ye ol’ 2002’s Kiryu. But, those are MechaGodzilla decos that don’t harken back as much to old, solid metal robot toys with a hint of color. Though, there’s a value to looking like an all metal toy in itself, too. Also, I wonder what the bot mode head would look like in that case.

BWII Galvy would be wild. Though, I think that’d require partsforming for the drill and other bits, which wouldn’t be out of step with the original toy. Better yet, if the drill can be detached, then I’d love an option to be held in hand like TTGL’s Giga Drill Breaker Attack.

And, while I’m spitballing, maybe Cetacean Tidal Wave as a design-mate with the Chouginga Gurren Lagann?

Finally, I feel that Red Geist is way more important than Dyna Dragon, but I thought DD had to be mentioned given Trigger’s sorta subtle referencing of Shattered Glass, since there are other examples in SSSS Gridman—Grimlock—that are kind of obvious and don’t need a shred of familiarity to SG to figure who they’re referencing—Moi, Grimlock.

My one big question about this figure is this note at the bottom on TFSource. Other than that, I'm getting this.

In my one experience getting parts for an MMC product purchased through TFSource, it took so long going through TFSource support that I eventually just asked MMC directly and got it much more quickly that way, so take that as you will.

You might also want to note that R-42C isn't due for another year, so you have plenty of time to decide whether to preorder.
