With the cost of the reissue and those parts, you're getting awfully close to the cost of the encore versions themselves, or at least the cost of a decent loose G1 seeker.

Might as well go for a decent priced Encore seeker (non-conehead) if you can find one.

I cut my missiles from one of the US seeker releases and honestly, it works pretty good. Sure they dont' fire but I'm a 40 something adult so "meh"

Replacing missiles with G1 ones is expensive, and no one is going to be selling the Japanese parts seperate from the entire toys. So either pay the extra for a Japanese reissue or get a G1 one if you have the money. If you don't, clip the US.

I'm fine with the G1 US WM Reissues.

It's not like I actually play with these things.

Those appear to be just the 2012 Asian market re-releases. Except for Dirge, who wasn't re-released in Asia and appears to be the old TRU release from 2004.

Which are different from the new Walmart exclusive (for the US) reissues that are also offered by Robot Kingdom.

Has this already been released? If not, when is it expected to be released?

I had no idea these were a thing, so I was surprised when I saw a lot of G1 Hot Rod and Starscream at my Walmart today. I have no interest because I already own these in one form or another, but it's nice to see them for sale for those that want them.

On a side note, am I the only one who is amused that Hot Rod's tech spec now says that "He tends to follow rules too closely."?

The numerical ratings on the tech specs are a bit off as well...he has 10's for most of his specs...

Wanted to post this here; I just got back from my Wal-Mart and it looks like they're starting to sell them facing the right way! These were all still clearly factory sealed and weren't there a few days back when I was here last.

My local Walmart had these in stock when I was there last weekend, for the RIDICULOUS price of $30(I didn't buy it). It's not like they even had any other reissues anyways, and I don't even like Hot Rod that much. Maybe other reissues will come in soon?

Sorry if I ranted a little.

I got him and $30 isn't too bad. It's decent quality and worth the trip down memory lane.

That's partly true, I guess, but he's costs too much for my budget.

I picked a Hot Rod up a couple of weeks back and found a couple of differences from previous iterations. (I originally also posted these in the general Wal*Mart reissue thread and figured here would be good too)

The Autobot symbol on his chest is larger than previous versions, and looks ever so slightly different. Maybe it's the movie version of the symbol? I can't really tell.

The stickers are a lot more reflective, and the colors on them are not as vibrant.

The mold itself is the TFC 13 mold, meaning it has the TM-sized fist holes and mount on the back of the head. The guns are the same ones that were included in TFC 13 (two-tiered posts). So while any previous version of Hot Rod can hold the Wal*Mart guns, this reissue can only hold its own and TFC 13's (and Firebolt).

He's a little overpriced but not by much. $25 is probably the better number after accounting for inflation. But seriously, what's an extra $5?

You have a point there, but I'm on a budget.
