I didn't say it's you. Just pointing out the phenomenon where people tend to quickly attack the person instead of the ideas.

Hmm not sure I want to add to the views so I might skip this video. On the other hand there's a few good discussions about Beast Wars happening on youtube at the moment. "Beast Wars Wednesday" is awesome and they just recently covered Code of Hero, there's "Bull Session" that's not bad and @Primal Sabbath's on "Stasis Lock", your mate had me going for a second in the Aftermath video when he joked and said MP Terrorsaur had been revealed haha.

You quoted my post, so I replied in relation to what I've posted. We all need to be accountable for what we say online.

Thanks Oku I'll give them a listen.

On the animals existing in the wrong time period thing couldn't we assume that some species got wiped out during and after the Vok began tortching the planet? If it didn't kill some animals outright initially it could certainly have screwed up their ecosystems leading to some species going extinct only to re-appear later in history. Tarantulas favorite prey apparently had become more limited post Quantum Surge and animals like Sabertooths and Woolys could have took over. Then you just have to figure out why we haven't found fossils of more modern animals from the Cenozic?, Walking with Beasts era.

Oh I love Emgo & his ridiculous sense of humor. It's just my cuppa tea lol. Other than the above typical nonsense by him, his transformation steps have saved me from several heartaches with expensive robot toys.

Both him & Wotafa are my go-to guys for transformations.

I got to the interview clips and stopped for the reasons others stated. To me you can’t bring up Beast Wars without Dinobots heroics and honor, the relationship with Rattrap, Rattrap himself, Depth Charge and Rampage’s little interlude, or even the sappy romance of Tigerhawk and bringing the concepts of that relationship to a young mind. Let alone the prototype bot that came out like a runt and broke our hearts.

Did anyone see Hellsing Ultimate? Would love a Beast Wars Ultimate type of thing. Pack in more Megatron skating and less Saturday morning meandering story.

    ^This.
Attacking the guy doesn't prove he's wrong.
Attack the ideas. @Primal Sabbath 's post is a GREAT example of what we should do.
I don't know him nor his videos. And I don't agree with him on many points, but I find insulting him at a personal level a bit excessive imho.
Let's be a better community, Beast Wars deserves it.

“Beast forms were out of sync”. Ok, first off, Beast Wars was originally made to sell toys. The toys were of a rhino, gorilla, rat and raptor, so of course they would be out of sync. Second off, since the show never really had a hard date on when it takes place (aside from a brief statement that the autobots and decepticons will awaken in 4 million years) you can kinda fudge things since rats and rhinos have been around a looong time, cheetahs once were more widespread and common, and raptor dinosaurs are extinct. The only real issue is Primal’s gorilla mode. As Gorillas in their modern form wouldn’t have likely been around 4 million years ago. (Fossils of apes are sadly very rare).

Ps. Most of the original autobot cars were European racers, quite “out of sync” in the deserts of the midwestern US. I’m guessing the person in the video just had a (I hate this term) hate-boner for Beast Wars.

I need to watch this as I really am interested in what his issues are, from what I've read here it sounds like the sort of nitpicking that could tear G1 apart a LOT quicker than Beast Wars...but hey each to their own.

What i really want to talk about is PE Mega Doragon...because it's an artefact of true beauty and may actually beat MP Dinobot as my favourite figure of the year so far...and despite the odd gripe I LOVE Dinobot.

The detailing, the finish, the sculpt, the design...everything is so beautifully done. The balance between evoking the character and design of TM2 Megatron and new design flourishes is as good here as it was on Gorira..maybe even better! I was worried by deviating further than Gorira did I'd find it jarring or too far from the source material but no..I love it. Plus the transformation is surprisingly intuitive and simple in an age of overly complicated and infuriating transformations. Sort of makes me wish TT would look at what these 3P guys are doing and take a few pointers.

My only serious problem with him is he's so huge I don't know where Im gonna put him!

Hummm... I didn't actually see any problem with anything he says, all his points are well articulated and he makes it very clear that they are his own opinions and not indisputable fact. As an original G1 fan he didn't, and continues to not, like Beast Wars much, many feel the same way, he can't get over the beast modes...neither could I at the time, the way they name themselves after their beast modes IS dumb. I also totally agree that tying it into G1 was a huge reason why it became popular among older fans, because I am one of those older fans and it did! However I don't think it's the only reason, theres a lot to be said for the fact it was a well written show with superior character development (sort of enforced due the the constraints of the technology at the time but that is by the by), and he DOES highlight all that. All his comments make sense to me, I don't necessarily agree with him 100% of the time, but that's is the way opinion works isn't it? Interestingly I found myself agreeing with him way less that disagreeing, and yet we come out of it on opposite sides of the 'fence' and Im totally ok with that.

The point he makes about G1 being more iconic.. well it does feels a bit unnecessarily laboured and irrelevant...but he is not wrong. My counter argument to his "it changes the fabric of Transformers" is what else where they gonna do? The brand was bombing, it needed to change, at the time no one wanted G1 any more. The only alternative would have been to just end the brand with G2. Beast Wars enabled the brand to live on past that 'bump in the road' and brought us to today where G1 is one again on top and cherished.

I do find it incredibly difficult to see any reason why anyone would be offended by this or have cause to throw insults his way. The guy has an opinion and he articulates it in a very balanced, respectful and reasoned way. He's quite clear that you don't have to agree with him and makes no attempt to insult those who don't.

The British are typically very charming lol
And yeah I dig Jobby too.

I do too. Typically when I'm on the fence about something he's one of the three I watch to get a decent idea about it. He's overly critical to a fault though, and that's why I have him in a line up with two others. That's usually how I reach a conclusion on something I'm weary of buying.

For a while it was either the DOFP set, or the DOFP Megatron... I paid about the same for both. But currently the item I've spent the most on was the Code Of Hero storyboard.
But after next weekend it'll be something completely different ;)

Yeah I love what the Beast Wars Wednesdays guys are doing.
    Hahaha Tyler is ridiculous lol
But I feel like we were all expecting it lol

It's the opposite for me: I started caring about G1 because of BW lol

I watched BW as a kid back in China and didn't know it's tied to G1 at the time. The Chienese version completely changed the title to something like "Transforming Warriors." Neither did I watch any G1 before. I only found out it's part of the franchise much later.

Well exactly, it's a different story for everyone, which he does acknowledge although I do think he does somewhat overlooks the fact that younger fans came to the franchise through Beast Wars. However I'd totally agree that tapping into G1 lore was a big part of what made Beast Wars palatable to many originally skeptical G1 fans. It was a very clever move by the writers it fact!

He did say Beast Wars is a good show..twice. If he said it in the first five minute instead of in the end, folks are probably less upset.

The most I've ever spent on any figure was getting my Leader ROTF Starscream modded and custom painted. I think I spent over £500 on that which I will never do again with anything as I've since developed the skills to do all my own custom work. Next is probably another Starscream- the huge 3A figure; I don't know why I like that design so much but It just sings to me. I got that off ebay not too long ago for £320 I think and then third is a Hot Toys pre-order for their Darth Maul and Speeder set. 270 odd quid for all that. I'm quite new to proper high end collectibles so just give it some time, maybe a few more promotions and I'm sure I'll end up blowing a grand on something ludicrous. (Bring on that Dinobot statue, Prime 1 Studio!)

I'm in this camp to a degree- Beast wars made G1 sound so intense and intriguing, then I watched an episode... well maybe half an episode. i was not impressed. 'The Great War' is definitely better left to my own imagination. I was appalled to see the presence of humans in a Transformers show- I don't need them there to relate- a thought Michael Bay could never comprehend.
It's like when I hear that 'kids really loved the introduction of Robin to the Batman series because now they had someone to relate to and suddenly they were there in the story fighting alongside Batman!' Bullshit. I always wanted to be Batman! I wanted to be Dinobot and I'm not even blue! People don't need their mirror image inserted into a product to make them care about the surrounding characters- they just need good characters! I don't know why I'm mentioning this but yeah, screw humans!
