for me, leaders should be big, but not too big. So voyager fits. Leader size for me, it's for the "big guns" of the opposing armies, which is why they're big. I can't really get behind Optimus and Megatron towering over everything else.

For me scale is uh, if it looks good together and fits the above rule I have, then it's all good.

Also partially because I don't want to do the math involved lol

 

Leaders referred more to optimus and megatron than actual size class  

 

See hasbro, this is why naming the size class "leader" is confusing   like as I kid I wondered what the hell did that tank guy do in the movie to deserve being called a leader  

but yeah, I mean for leader characters I'm happy to have them at voyager size. Having them at actual leader size is a bit too big for me.

 

especially to those collectors (like myself) who don't have a lot of room to store transformers figures in, so a smaller scale line (like Studio Series) is pretty good

 

yeah i can see that (megs and prime are usually voyagers for me to). Tbh i like having someone like brawl as a leader, big beefy tank that can reck the Autobots is a lot more fun than the short guy who has thin limbs that barely stands up to prime. It's the main reason I'll be getting the weijang blackout and brawl. 2 very large henchmen for Megatron to boss around and beat up those tiny autobots. 

 

Brawl does seem to be a bit undersized (either that or Jazz is too big) basing on the decepticon punk scene.

Oh definitely! the smaller size is a godsend, more space for figures. It helps the SS line has been good so far.

That first jump is definitely much bigger than the second...

 

Some would even argue the second was a downgrade

 

if the improvements and paint are amazing, the bigger size usually won't matter 

 

hmm.. never worked on loose pins before.. if they move around a lot, I would try some superglue on the ends of the pins.. maye someone else could help you?

Really excited to see people talking about their preferred scales.
Personally my movie figures have their own scale. I used to put Leader Optimus & Megs in, but they made everyone look so insignificant. So since then I use Voyager versions. SS Megatron is my go to. I scale my figures around their Leaders as well. Megatron has to be taller than Starscream or soundwave, and has to be the same size or slightly larger than Optimus. I use that for most lines. I use my Leaders/MPM/Human alliance with each other now. Brawl & Blackout I keep as leaders just as nice beefy giant brawler boss fight type guys.

I also couldn't bring myself to buy Studio Series Brawl. He's the only Studio Series figure so far to make me go 'bleh'. :/

With each evolution the truck got smaller and the bot got bigger, the bots proportions became more accurate and sculpted detail more pronounced. I hope that there is at least one more figure in his evolution, I think one more go at the design would yield an incredible Optimus figure.

Wei Jiang's Prime has a lot of the right detail, but the truck parts look to big compared to his body. So far I don't see any reason to buy it since I already have three of the original MPM-04 mold.
