If I come across one, I'll pick up both that and one of the leftover POTP Jazz's to give my Elita-Infinite a unique form. If I don't, I'll just continue letting her borrow Dinobot and Torchbearer limbs.

 

Somewhat unrelated but with Wreck Gar coming out we have two limbs per combiner that isn't Vocanicus and Abominus in the POTP line. Does that mean the other three get screwed out of being full sets since POTP's over?

 

Presumably. I think Hasbro's even stated that they weren't intending to create complete combiners (excepting for Volcanicus and Abominus) for the other Voyagers.

 

But that's not entirely true! Walgreens does restock! Assuming your local store isn't jammed with old figures, they will begin ONLY stocking these (i.e. see the current Marvel Legends Medusa crisis!  ).

Plus, Walgreens is easier to find than a Starbucks. If you don't see Wreck-gar, drive somewhere else.
I went on a road trip (March 2018) and found a Walgreens with FOUR CW Brainstorms in stock!   So, I guess I'm saying that if you drive enough, even 10 years later, you'll still find a Wreck-gar, sitting on some lonely shelf somewhere!   Unlike with most stores, the guy in charge of these exclusives at Walgreens actually orders a ton of them for the chain - scalpers only benefit from initial shipments and delayed restocks. For example, Marvel Legends Silver Surfer just got re-released at Walgreens, and that's an older exclusive that sold out (to my knowledge).

 

Walgreens, like every store in existence, restocks their shelves with product, especially product that sells well/fast. Otherwise, they wouldn’t have any product to sale. The past two Walgreens exclusives, were notoriously easy to find after a certain period of time, because they were restocked, and were available on their website for months.

Ontop of that, people like myself aren’t buying four of these to scalp, we’re buying them because their armybuilders, and they are also combiners. It’s no different then if we got a Scourge/Sweep limb. You’d want four to give to a combiner.

 

Medusa nothing, at least she's only a year old. One Walgreens by me is still sitting on like six or seven yellow Daredevils.

 

If you went all out on the combiner wars exclusives you should have two extra Autobot limbs into extra Decepticon limbs.

1. Off-Road
2. Alpha Bravo
3. Rook
4. Blast-Off, jet

 

I wish. Missed out on CW and sellers want an arm and a leg for those spare limbs...

Now that I don't get. Why would you want four Wreck-Gars? To me, that's like buying four Papa Smurfs because they're all Smurfs.

Maybe if you are into customizing, I can see appeal. Experts at repainting and 3D printing new Junkion heads could probably make a pretty cool looking Junkion combiner. Could even find a use for all those spare single-packed Scattorshots to be repainted into the ship on the top... Here you go @CheetimusPrime, you're next project.  

 

Are you including convention exclusives in the that?

I got all the regular release CW Torsos except Battle Core Optimus Prime. I got all the limbs released at retail as well as the correct limbs for Defensor and Menasor. I still had to repaint at least four to get all the CW ones complete. The only extra I had was when shuttle Blast off was released.

If one didn't get battle core Optimus or the solo scattershot that would be correct.

 

I wish. To me those guys are with their respective teams, but the ones their substituting are Galvatronus' crew.

I don't have BC OP or solo Scattershot, and I'm missing deluxes. With the PotP Combiners, right now I have Elita Infinite with Jazz and Impactor (Only spare limb I have), who's gonna get replaced with Wreck Gar as soon as I buy him. Starscream and Inferno are in solo mode and have Dreadwing and Darkwing in super jet mode.

Have been thinking about getting two G2 Stunticons just so that Megascream can have legs.

No I'm not counting any TFCC, TFSS or BotCon exclusives. I have an Excell document that lists all the complete combiners that could be assembled. It includes all 4 Starscreams but no other duplicate characters.

 

Yeah that was my understanding as well. I believe there is a quote from Warden that no new limbs would be made to complete the Starscream, Inferno, and Elita combiners. It's a shame but crying over spilled milk now. There is no way that Hasbro would produce 6 new releases to fill our all 3 of those torsos. 3 or 4 would have been possible because you could have done 4 waves (4/4/4/4 or 4/5/4/4) plus Wreck-Gar. That would give you 18 characters. I would have kept the Dreadwing combo and filled out Inferno and Elita-1. Inferno is easy - the Ratchet UW release and the Hoist that was never done for Botcon/TFSS and pair them with Jazz and Wreck-Gar. Elita gets Chromia from Afterburner and a heavy retool of Jazz into some new female character. Basically 3 new heads and decos and 1 retool with a new head.

Regardless I have Bruticus with Shuttle Blast Off facing off against Firestorm (Inferno with the Sky Lynx limbs) and Elita Infinite (Elita, Moonracer, Novastar, Jazz, and eventually Wreck-Gar). Best teams i could gather.

 

Thats actually.... exactly what I plan on doing. Somebody is going to make new heads for the mold(presumably on Shapeways), and I would imagine Toyhax will make a large sticker set with a few different options. Add that to a few painted areas, and you have four Junkions, including their leader Wreck-Gar.

I am planning on using the retail Scattorshot, however I was planning on using the Toyhax conversion kit to turn it into Flame.

 

I use those on Galvatronus!

I’m quite tempted to buy four Wreck-gars myself and use them as limbs for the Collector’s club Wreckage. Although I’ll probably settle for two and figure out something for the rest.

Sadly though, I only have one Walgreens near me now. Only went there once when I moved and they didn’t have much of a toy section. Hopefully they’ll get Wreck-gar in.
