Hi there, this is my first post here: my search fu isn't so great, so I apologize if I missed an existing topic. I'm really in love with the Kawamori, weird colored, inaccurate starscream but I'm afraid of durability issues. Has anyone tried kit-bashing the nice jet parts from the original MP03 to the YM08 mold? I'm thinking it would be transferring the kibble and legs from MP03 to the YM08 and as far as I can tell those weren't the parts subject to spontaneous explosion? Not sure if these are totally different beasts and if I'm better off repainting a walmart exclusive US mp03 for the trouble.
I can't contribute as to whether or not the parts are compatible between MP-03 and MP-11, but if you don't mind getting an upsized version, there's always this as an option Free shipping! Robot Hero CG02 Oversized Starscream (Green)reissue
Thanks, I was considering that one, but I'm trying to keep this starscream in scale with my DX chogokin 1/60 macross collection. So I went ahead and bought both the mp03 and a yes model 08: I'm going to try to anneal the plastic on the MP03 in the oven and use the YM08 as a parts donor if it goes south. I'll keep people posted on the project.
Anneal the plastic? I've heard of doing this for 3d printed parts to strengthen the bonds between layers but what purpose does it serve for injection molded parts?
