Once a TF collector, always a TF collector! :D  Just have to be more selective about what I buy these days, though.

Having recently purchased a G1 God Ginrai after having messed one with one at a meet-up I then also bought a MT Thunder Manus thinking it would scratch that itch. I wasn't looking for a MP upgrade just a Modern representation of the character. While I like the MT's one it doesn't scratch that it. I'm looking for a Brick, something that evokes that feel of the G1 version.

My only reservations is the tolerances. I own all of the FH Monsterbots and I have to say mine aren't holding up well, quite a few of their friction joints as well as ball joints are getting very soft with minimal handling. So my question is how does this release stack up to previous releases and does it invoke a G1 feel with modern articulation?

    Thanks in advance.

Power Baser is a lot more solid than the monster bots, more ratchets. For me the blocky, chunky, tubby nature of Power Base definitely evokes that feeling I had when I played with Powermaster Prime as a kid. Out of all the current Powermaster Prime figures it's pretty easily my favorite one.

    The Monsterbots have poor quality?

    Well that's a shame...

I would not call monsterbots bad quality. some of the friction joints on mine are a bit looser than when I got them but still good. Ratchets are still good on mine. Power Baser just seems more solid to me. I have regular and black version and they are solid bricks, which I like.

Yeah, I’d say the monster bots are pretty high quality but suffer from some loose/soft joints. Figures that size need good ratchets all over.

    All of this.
On mine they got better as they went along, the last is pretty solid but the 1st somewhat floppy in places sadly.
    Powerbaser is very solid though.

I'm envious as mine has not been so fortunate. They've been in robot mode and Monster once and I'm gonna put them back into Robot. For minimal messing with I was expecting a little more.

It however sounds like Powerbaser sounds like a more solid piece which is good and may be on the list next for purchase as soon as funds are freed up. Appreciate the input.

I only own their grotesque (flypro) and the only loose joint on him is his head which easily pops out if I pull up. Everything else is still stiff and the ratchets are extremely tight (though a bit too tight for comfort sometimes). I cant really say anything for the other two releases though.

Got my new head and hands this week, and just fitted them. Were we supposed to get some screws for the hands? Luckily I had some that fit, but they're silver rather than black, and they're not a perfect fit, but they work.

Yes mine came with screws. They were in a separate pouch inside the box, rather than being screwed into the hands already.

Mine were the same (I got sent the head and hands in error), but yeah the screws were in a little bag taped to the clamshell

Same, screws were in a separate bag.

I did end up getting my replacement arm from Tony. Great service at Robotoybase. I like the new hands well enough, although in hindsight, since I'll be having him hold his guns most of the time, they may not have been entirely necessary. But even then, the guns slide into them easier than the original hands, so it is still objectively better. It also seems like the fingers are a little over long, as they don't curl into a fist that naturally, and there is no splay to them. The head I have no problems with though. The size alone makes for much better proportions than the original head. About the only thing I can say is that it looks a little odd at some angles since he doesn't have a neck.

Don't get me wrong though, I have zero regrets on these, especially with how reasonably priced they were from Fans Hobby.

Never mind... they must have fallen out of the box, and I found them tonight by treading on them.... barefoot. Two of them went right in up to the head. Ouchie.

Sorry if this has already been requested before, but does anyone have a photo of Power-Baser beside MPP-10? Thanks
