No Unless you count my wife always saying. “You are always right”....... but I think she’s being sarcastic sometimes
Now that I have the oppurtunity to allow myself to get 1 of these figures, I face the dilemma of which one to pick. Should I go with tarn, shattered glass drift, or wait for star saber? Tarn looks phenomenal and SG drift looks equally as amazing. The difference between the two is 80$, and I seriously don't know which to pick. Drift has arguably a lot more accessories, now that he comes with both his tri-swords and two guns, which are exclusive to this variant; But by buying drift, i'm locking myself out of potentially getting the original colours as my rule of purchasing stuff is to never own duplicates of the same mold(remold are exceptions but only for less expensive stuff like the generations line). Whereas with tarn, he looks a whole lot more imposing, but I already own the MMC kultur, and am indecisive whether the 300$ markup from MMC's price is worth it.(they are totally different products aiming for totally different aesthetics and audiences). Or should I get star saber, which I'm not totally 100% keen on due to it's disproportionately added bulk compared to alex milne's sketch and design. Or maybe their stealthbomber idw megatron(not keen on their take on optimus). I hope you guys can help me out of this first world problem predicament. I would also love opinions on the drift mold from whomever that owns or have fiddled with it. Thanks in advance
I missed the first wave of Drifts and got impatient not knowing when SG would release, so I paid retail+ for an OC version. Don’t regret it; think he will contrast Tarn better when it’s the two of them than SG would, and brighter bots tend to display better. And I know who that character is compared to the SG one, and they're comparably striking to me. If i was going to purchase exactly one Flame Toys, I'd wait for one that I loved everything about (except for the price ). I grew up G1 but fell in love with the recent IDW comic runs, and actually feel more attachment to those renditions of characters just due to the depth they're developed. In particular the DJD episodes were awesome -- good mix of mature storytelling plus just nonsense character design that the kid in me loves. So for me it'd be Tarn, no question, but I think it's more about the process than the pick. Hope that helps!
Definitely informative, thank you very much! Really appreciate it, I mean it's not like I'll never buy a flame toys figure again, just not for a long time.
Looks like I have decided to go all in and preordered a tarn. Time to hop on this addictive, slippery-sloped bandwagon that y'all are in.
You'll be glad you did. I jumped on a little late to get Drift at retail, so I had to pay a premium. Not the least bit sorry, though. Really excited for Tarn On that note, TFS is now saying November... That's fine - more time to save up for this guy.
Well he’s a lot shorter than me... Ok, ok. He’s about 7.5-8 inches tall. Feels about MP scale or a tad larger. Here he is next to MP-10 (he’s on his stand, obv.)
HAH GOTEEM Thanks for the pics, doesn't seem that short in your pic so tarn should be reasonably sized. Good news all around
I'm definitely planning on picking up Star Saber, I've always wanted something that looks like it walked out of Diablo amongst my TFs.
Found some pics from weibo by NOTRAB (i've heard of him before, when I was following the mpm optimus thread like 2 years ago). Sadly he appears to be wearing the exclusive mask(non battle-damaged) which makes me kind of envy those that got him from d4-toys. Oh wells. Drop dead gorgeous. Literally. Because he'll kill you if you look at him.
