I don't mind the flames since the figure is a homage to movie/bay Prime, but I do hope they're not on the final figure, they look out of place being on the chest and no where else.

I don't mind the flames; besides it only being accents on three places (chest, armor chest, armor shoulders), they're one of the few doses of actual personality we get for him (besides a preference for taking faces).

Prime added them when he first scanned his alt, and brought them back when he ditched evasion mode, so I'm cool with him just keeping them even if the alt didn't show them.

 

Evasion prime had flames in aoe, they were just faded

 

Flames on the robot mode and not on truck mode doesn't bother me. In truck mode He is in disguise and looks like any other truck,does not stand out in a crowd. In robot mode He is not hiding so He can add some personal style.

 

I respect this headcanon

 

I think the movies are so bad they’re worth studying, but a cool robot is a cool robot. This is a very cool robot.

 

Wouldn't take all that much remolding to get the spirit of Galaxy Convoy to shine through. Mostly repainting and recoloring. The rest is the headsculpt, a bit of the vehicle (hardly necessary though) and the part that looks like it swings over the chest.

 

Even better. He insisted on them despite being in hiding.

 

Love the sketch-up for Galaxy Convoy-alike up above. That's good stuff.

Going back to the renders, I really dig the way the trailer stripes end up playing out on the jet mode for the surf-SR71. There was probably some added level of complication to not make it look like a hodge-podge of random direction stripes when converting between modes. I'm looking forward to this more every time I look at it. Ridiculously cool.

 

Or they could make yet another trailer for this guy to add to the insanity.

You have to give it to Perfect Effect, they took an idea no one thought they wanted and made it into something that none of us want to be without. I'm so glad I just got a job because I need this. Not only is it a great looking figure, I'd challenge that it's the greatest Optimus/Trailer combo ever!

 

Ouch, nah mines is Thunder Erebus but I dont care about accuracy to source material as much as cool AF NP with trailers, I'd even put MT Nemesis over this, this is nice no doubt and I'll pick up the hopeful nemesis repaint but it's still very str8 forward

Hope not destroyed by their usual lack of ratchets, presence of floppy joints and unbalanced figures...

Just look at mega doragon thread, that toy is wonderful but everybody is trying to hide their difficulties in posing it (especially in alt mode)

 

no people are complaining how back heavy he is in bot mode, there aren't posing complaints in dragon mode, and most people have worked out how the joints work and are having more fun now

 

Kuma did change his review (I saw if just now) anyway I'm still waiting to see a good pose in dragon mode. No saying it's bad but a dragon stands on its legs with the entire body going forward, while most pictures show him standing up.

 

there's plenty of those pics, lazyazy just posted some that have that look, and someone else as well posted to pics posed like that on a shelf

 

Oh my lord I would pay $300 for that.
