Hmm, not good indeed. But, maybe you still give Crackup a chance? That's if you are ok with the peach colors. For 40$, i gave him a try... then gave Toro a try too, once on flash sales. Both were very good quality wise. Sad that Keith didnt provide replacement parts, nor your etailer.
The peach color on Crackup was pretty weird. Funny thing it that would probably have been better suited for this Elita release as opposed to a Breakdown homage. Oh well.
The colour on Crackup was accurate to the cartoon and the vintage toy. It wasn’t weird at all. It was bang on.
I wish for a better outcome from another company, but honestly, it's not their fault, G1 fembots' designs were literally women with cosplay of parts of MegaMan on them.
My memory of Breakdown (one of my childhood friends owned him) was that he wasn't THAT peach, but I'll admit my memory could be inaccurate. Either that, or my friend left his out in the sun and it got bleached more. What bugged me most about Crackup was that the peach + high gloss gave the figure a sort of flesh-like translucency which has been sort of off-putting for me.
How about they first release their Arcee.... and hopefully some of the alternate faces will be good on her, and i dont regret getting her once in hand...
Why do that if they can get their fans club to commit to the repaints/remolds first? Nah, I am fully expecting MMC to indeed remold their Arcee to Elita, but perhaps for TFCon. This is Boss Penguin we are talking about. Heck we might see an Optimus out of the Arcee mold!!!
Yes. I meant they will add a transparent plastic for a boob window. Hopefully blue to break up the pink. If you zoom in on the sculpt the chest details from the cartoon are sculpted in. The only thing that is different is the boob window which probably has a purpose for vehicle mode. I’m a huge fan of the designer of Xtransbots so I’m already sold on this.
Well. Round of applause to XTB. They’ve achieved the impossible. Make a figure of one of the female autobots that can actually transform. Good job. If they show off a firestar I’m gonna lose my mind.
Yeah those fembot character models were a bit featureless after all. This actually looks better IMO; I don't think a figure that was literal to the character design would look very good in real life. The only thing I'd worry about is standing capability on those small feet/thin legs, with all the bulk in the body.
They'd all just end up looking like anorexic Kup with lipstick, IMO. As far as standing is concerned, FT Arcee and TW/Zeta Leia shows it can be done. It can be a little tricky to get them to balance on occasion, but a rubber dot on the foot can provide a little traction in a glass case.
Hopefully this is a very early model, because it looks like it would snap into pieces just by moving an arm.
Yeah, but it /is/ visually closer to the original model, so there's that. I think what makes the custom look "mannish" is the face. Face sculpts are pretty difficult though, so I won't begrudge it for looking the way it does.
