I think the weathering will look really cool in person.

 

I’ve got the Universe Nightstick with my CW Cyclonus. Then the Legends Hot Rod, Kup, Blurr, Triggerhappy, Misfire, and Slugslinger, along with Peacemaker, Spoilsport, and Pinpointer (from Windblade, Topspin, and Twintwist). I also have the Million Publishing Artfire and Stepper. Can you tell I love Targetmasters?  

 

You know what Hasbro should do here to appeal to everyone here? Make the battle damage just be stickers.

 

The stickers they used for POTP might as well be considered battle damage since they look so bad.

 

Sorry, I just remembered that the recent stickers suck. Go back to the Thrilling 30 style of stickers then make the battle damage stickers.

 

nightstick not caliburst haha i get their names mixed up. targetmasters are my favorite of the master gimmicks, but for the most part the takara ones were just too expensive. the 4 i have are all from trade deals and wanting the best version of doublecross to go with the other two monsterbots

 

The stickers on the Wal-mart reissue Hot Rod are actually some of the nicest stickers i've ever had on a figure.

 

I totally forgot Haywire came with Doublecross  . I gave him to Blurr as soon as I got him and gave Legends Doublecross (painted White Leo!) the weapons from the Hasbro one.

 

i did exactly the same and got the topspin and twintwist targetmasters from someone that wanted to do an even trade for the hasbro guns. i traded those and bought the nonnef guns and got the targetmasters haha

Yeah, Roadbuster and Whirl were two figures I was thinking of. I didn't get a whole lot of T30 and I just assumed they all had stickers like that.

 

Nope, I believe those two were the only ones and it was for specific throwback reasons

 

All this talk of Targetmasters, my TR Quake needs his little buddies too.

 

I think the battle damage will be awesome on characters like Hound and Ironhide.

If the get around to making Tracks and Sunstreaker they should be the only clean figures released. Because if there’s two bots willing to polish themselves during a battle it’d be them.

 

I hope we get them.

 

Instead of the sloppy unconvincing silver dry brushing, I personally would have preferred a black wash or something. But then again, the QC issues might get in the way.

 

The battle damage paint keeps looking uglier. Don't know if I will be able to forgive it enough to buy it. Apparently, Transformers race into battle injured and/or don't have a means of self repair. Sideswipe's got some severely scraped shins.

Magnus in the comparison images looks predictably huge. Disappointing that his inner bot is shorter than Classics Prime (possibly even shorter than POTP Grimlock, the shortest Voyager I own) so I won't be able to use a red and blue recolor as my Optimus, but it looks quite bulky compared to Voyager Prime and that probably extends duly so to his armored form.
