legs look fine to me. I don't really consider a slight curve of the thigh to be his defining feature. looks enough like cyclonus for my shelf.

Look for them in the cuddly TT version, along with big tubby hips to get that perfect, 80's care bear aesthetic.

Is there a date yet? The thread kind of petered out lately.

The number of times we wind up talking about their smooth thighs...

I think the thighs are probably the most egregious example. He could maybe use a little more curve on the outer calf/shin but it's not hugely terrible. The thighs though are definitely off. Admittedly XTB's, while a little better, don't quite cut it either:

On the bright side, it looks like this time they at least skipped the obligatory FT mid-thigh cut!!

I read speculation a few pages back that the reason the thighs are square rather than tapered had to do with the way they collapse down into the calves (similar to MP-10 I guess)?
No idea if this is accurate or not, or how the compression gimmick would be affected by tapered thighs if that's how it does work, but it's a possible reason?

For all the complaints about his thighs I think it's a good time to remind people that I'm way more bothered by the fact that he's blue not purple.

What he said. Looking forward to getting this guy to cap off a pretty good 3rd party year.

I'm surprised they haven't done that for Sovvy already, seems like easy money.

Fantoys is my favorite 3rd party company but i already own the xtransbots cyclonus and looking at FT pics, i dont see a huge enough difference to justify a purchase, unless there are some xtransbots qc issues im not aware of.

Maybe the demand isn't there for it in China (I honestly don't know how they feel). My assumption on all of these types of questions is they check in both Western and Chinese boards and combine that data to gauge demand.

I still don't hold this against them. I think this is very much figure specific based on shapes and where things have to go. There are always things that can be better than others but that is a trade off. If I wanted 3 steps and done I would have picked CHUG. These were never drawn with all of the engineering done and bigger figures have more places to hide stuff. They had the toys to work from but those were fails compared to what we are seeing. I didn't like Apache as much after all because it felt unfinished but Koot seemed like a good figure from the reviews. However, as a triple changer Apache didn't seem any more complex than the other offerings out there that had the same issues and solutions that are just hardwired. At some point you have to ask yourself why the majority of the transformations follow the core transformation from the G1 before deviating? The simple answer is there are no other solutions and certain parts have to go certain places. That is always going to dictate transformation to a large degree. I think some of the tricks employed in Dracula have far reaching use in other bots especially the tabbed reversible thighs. I do think they missed on Mike's point on the mistransformation giving us exactly what would have worked perfectly on the bat mode had they just included screw covers.

I think it is the latter and I think they dance with what is furthest along except for Rouge. They wanted to get out first. My GUESS with Berserk is that the complexity of the two plane modes (was it filled out) and top heaviness in bot mode may have been something they weren't happy with releasing.

Amount of steps and complexity are not one and the same.

Unique toys Lock down has plenty of steps and steps which do not stress anything or cause risk of damage and yet both modes are incredibly good. Fanstoys do not have good engineers, they have amazing production, amazing detail sculptors but their engineering is far behind the likes of DX9 / Unique toys.

DX9 Montana is really shit, the paint is awful, the finish is rubbish all over but engineering is amazing. Fanstoys really need to start looking at smarter ways to achieve their transformation. currently their answer is to add swivels, hinges and panels on repeat.

I always felt like eligos was a little to...fat? His face and body overall. The whole cockpit gimmick thing I hated. Actually broke on mine, along with his feet. Had I not broken it, I might of felt the same way considering it's basically the same character. After the fact though it's like...yeah, I'll never see that robot mode again. That's why I decided on quietus.
