So the G1 releases have not hit any of the local walmarts yet?

After seeing a few facebook posts about Devestator showing up at places... I wasted 2hrs driving around today. Pretty depressing... TF area of walmart was only 2 hooks wide at Sterling and Leesburg walmarts... 3 hooks at dulles landing(aldie). At least that store had some of the POTP figures.. optimus prime, rodimus prime (3x), galvatron, and some of the tiny figures I didn't see at the other stores.

TF in walmart retail would make you think the line is dead completely.

 

Use the SKU number. Don't waste gas driving around to all those stores.

 

Unless I'm doing delivery/pickup... given Walmart's deployable situation on the shelves.. I really don't count on their inventory being accurate for any small loose items.

 

Apparently the store has 9 on hand. I only saw one rodimus and one optimus. They were definitely going for 35 dollars, though.
That store had like 20 last week.

I'm glad to be getting out of collecting now. I don't have the energy to drive to a bunch of stores anymore. I ended up buying OpOp online. I'm done with collecting at this point.

I might get Magnus and Ironhide, but I doubt it at this point.

I AM SELLING big chunks of my collection, though. I'm still compiling a list of everything I have to offer. Once I have it compiled, I'll be sure to let you NOVA peeps know.

I'm going to be getting rid of the majority of my collection, ranging from Armada to today, so if there is anything in that bunch you're interested in shoot me a PM.

Oh, that I wouldn't know. If I were to guess, I think they just haven't hit saturation.

I feel better reading I'm not the only one slowing down on collecting. I've been on the fence for a while, but I had to finally make the decision. After 20+ years, married life, and two storage units full of Transformers I pay rent on, it was time. No kids to pass them to, so hopefully they'll find good homes through eBay.

 

You guys selling off collections, I'm really looking for TR Misfire and maybe Windblade.

I caved and just ordered a devastator from someone on ebay. The state of the 'action figure' isle at every walmart around me made me even more depressed than going through TRU looking for masterpiece figs. It would likely be futile unless found for pickup online. In the first store, I had to make 3 passes down the aisle before I found the TR 'spot'.. it was that small. Ironically, Walmart had a 'live demo' person there for Lego Jurrassic Park sets. Weird...

Leesburg has a new walmart coming... maybe that one will be semi reasonable. But the toy aisles are pretty bleek these days...

 

I've been collecting since the late 80's. I've been doing it all my life. It's cute and fun when maybe half a room is taken up. It's no longer fun when a closet and an entire basement is filled with toys that just sit on a shelf year after year.

 

I didn't have many as a kid in the 80s. Got Optimus in Xmas 85, then Jetfire and a few here and there. Bought Action Masters when KayBee toys were practically giving stuff away at the end. When I had money, I bought all of RID 2001 and Armada, bunch of Japanese reissues, original G1 Magnus MISB, most Prime, Animated, Movies, etc. But after picking up CW, I got tired of the driving around for TRU, Walgreens, and Target exclusives. Amazon, BBTS exclusives... I think the empty shelves at Dept stores and TRU finally closing did me in. ...Sorry didn't mean to get off topic.

 

Target Woodbridge has three sound wave exclusives and four cassette packs behind them. Also Bumblebee Energon igniters and legends; at least two of each.

 

Woodbridge Walmart has two each cutthroat, blot, and sinner twin. Plus a massive overstock of outback and cindersaur (not G1 outback).

 

So I'm reading that the Bumblebee movie version of Soundwave doesn't come with any weapons, despite the fact that the packaging and instructions clearly show them included? What kinda BS is that? ...I still kinda want one, but I guess it's probably gonna live in boombox mode. Or base mode with a bunch of other figures and weapons hanging out on it. Bleh.

 

Update: Conflicting reports. The thing I read might have been someone whose figure's weapons were missing from a factory error, or they might have accidentally thrown them away in the box, somehow. I guess... be wary? I'm gonna look for one tonight, so I'll hopefully be able to confirm or deny the presence of weapons...
