XTB for me, but I do like Stunticons so I'll be keeping an eye on the FT set to see how it plays out.

As far as FT revealing renders to try to get people to wait for their products, I wonder how successful that's been. Some of the figures they have upcoming were already available from other brands before they got announced (Quietus, Hoodlum, Aerialbots, Stunticons).

Hooray for the FT version for having machinery detail on the chest and fully articulated fingers.

IMHO DX9's looks the best but with its questionable quality, who cares.

Yep. XTB used to be the go to for proper hands but they caved to pressure from fumble-fingered folks who couldn’t pose them without breaking them.
So glad that FT are still happy to give us handsome that can actually be posed.
I also feel that FT’s Stunticons are a little more dynamic and sleek. XTB leaned a little too heavily on the toon accuracy to the point of blockiness. FT’s still look spot on to the toon but actually look good at the same time. Just waiting on colour choices to fully commit.

Yeah XTB caved all right. I will say that their articulated hands for Takara MPs (and Takara MP KOs) are pretty good quality, even better quality than they hands that come installed on XTB/KFC products. However FT's fully articulated hands are usually found on their bigger bots (FT dinos, Sovereign, Apache, Quietus etc) so we know their Stunticons will be bigger in size, about MP seeker height in fact.

I wouldn't say FT is spot on. Their Breakdown has the car's hood on his back legs and that weird extra shoulder bits.

Never cared for KFC hands. The fingers were just too spindly. It was never ghe case of fragility; I just don't like how they look. I prefer the more proportioned ones that FT uses.

FTs are definitely better designed but they’re really only practical on larger figures due to the use of pins.
KFC style hands with ball joints work for carbots or even mini bots. Sadly they’re now a thing of the past and are greatly missed.

I still wish i could put my finger on why FT's sculpts always look more 'rigid' to me than others, usually in the torso. That comparison picture above is another good example.

I wish they would improve on that.

FT hands are my least favourite out of all the hands. The palms are often oversized and the fingers rarely look natural posed unless in a fist. It's like every single robot is homaging Fisto/Jitsu from MOTU.

I like FT's bot modes best, but I need to see the combined mode before I decide to shell out big bucks for this combiner.

Nothing will ever be spot on to your childhood imagination. Good, quality products cannot be made overnight. After spending money on products from XTB, MMC, Fans, Hobby, Perfect Effect, Generation Toys, and Takara; I would rather wait for Fans Toys product since I like the early renders. That's me. Different price tags offer something for everyone's palate.

It migt be the whole "swimmers chest" thing they do with the heroic build on the torso? - broad shoulders, narrow waist. Same problem with their Seaspray.
If you've ever seen one of those body-builder types walking around with their huge torso's and arms held stiffly out to the sides like a cartoon parody...
They're not so bad once you have them in hand and can pose them dynaically, but FT always seem to pose their proto's in a very stiff and awkward looking fashion.

Their Dinobots are serious proportion offenders. They look like they decided to work their upper bodies and calves and skip out on the rest of their liwer bodies. For the love of Primus, get back to the gym and do some squats.

It's only Grinder who suffers form pin head syndrome IMO, Ceasium, Sever v2 head and Stomp are all fine. Maybe if his arms weren't so huge it wouldn't throw the rest of his proportions off.
