I was about to complain about how we never get a proper G1 BB in his VW mode... but then I remembered we did, I own it (and the variations), and thus have zero issue with this release!  

Complaining is fun... but there are limits, Bay-haters!  

 

I'm skipping the Studio Series version and getting this MPM. I had it pre-ordered halfway into Kevin's video. Then I'll get the OSKO from Black Mamba. If it's as big as the KBB G1 Bumblebee, all the better.

 

Before taking down Kevin Liu's MPM-7 review, Hasbro was sure to have their photographer watch the video first before transforming  

 

Yeah everyone who goes transformers fan sites mistransformed is word used in every toy topic it’s almost only word some people use on topics mistransformed toys is serious crime it is worse than murder and theft such thing should not be committed with toy shame on these people for doing thing with toy photo product images shame on them,.      


Transformed properly or not I made decision about getting this or not first time I saw this toy I don’t need properly transformed pictures on toy to make decision on something

 

Pardon the n00b questions, but am I to interpret this as the Hasbro version being exclusive to Amazon? What is the typical price different between the Hasbro and TakaraTomy versions, as I see the latter and $90 from several US importers.

He looks awesome but I\'ll probably stick with the SS version for the sake of scale in my collection plus limited funds as I plan to put most of my Transformers budget into the WfC: Siege line and collecting old WfC/FoC video game figures I unfortunately missed out on at the time.

 

Maybe they live in Canada or another part of the world outside the US where TRU didn’t close?

 

I adore this thing's alt mode. I'm an obsessive fan of VW Beetles lol. Seeing more official pics, though... Bot mode is still too compromised for me, sadly. I have to pass. Yes, he has wings/doors in the movie, but nowhere near that pronounced. Even folded back it still devastates the silhouette (for me.) It's not like a butt flap or hip skirt I can just ignore. It exceeds what I'm willing to overlook personally.

Since I have to make do with a compromise, I'll just buy the Studio Series version for $21 instead. Generations is the place where I don't mind alterations and compromises. Happy for everyone else who enjoys it, though.   I'm not hating. He still looks awesome for what he is. Don't @ me as the kids say.  

 

My wife loves the VW version of Bumblebee, which is the main reason why I got her MP Bumblebee for Christmas one year.  I was thinking about getting her this one too, but she\'s turned off by the robot mode parts hanging off the bottom of his car mode.  I agree with her; it is offputting.

 

I wish they let him wear that faceplate over his mouth the whole movie.  Wow the difference a director makes.

 

WHOA just realized the body is normal enough for a G1-esque headswap.  Like, if later they wanty to give us a more G1 BB they can use this mold with slight head alterations, because the body is perfect.

He looks really nice. I think I'll pre-order. BBTS says October but with the movie I guess the short wait makes sense.

I'm just curious if some third party is going to go insane and attempt even more accurate version.
