That color scheme would look so amazing on both Siege Optimus Prime and Siege core Ultra Magnus. Makes me want to see Delta Magnus even more so we can also get Magna Convoy out of it. Speaking of Convoy how come we never got Magna convoy/Blue cab Prime out of the MP10 mold? With the different repaints the mold has you'd think that'd be one of the more obvious ones to do.
Funny that's the only MP10 repaint I'd buy. would insta-buy a Siege version. so Magna Convoy is the Transformers name
Yea it reminds me of how I was slightly disappointed with MP Primal because it didn't retain the spring loaded gimmicks of the original ultra class figure. Not to drag this out, but I get it, I still like MP Primal but my opinion on the original ultra being a toy well ahead of its time and possibly wouldn't be surpassed by a modern Generations release remains firm. It is perfectly REASONABLE to expect a modern toy to surpass its predecessor. To me, if you're going to homage something, go all the way. As much as the apologists like to differ, we can see this already happening with the SIEGE line and said folks are praising it left and right. It's why I worry if that rumor of Magnus being retooled as Galaxy Prime is true. We all know how modern leader figures are and they honestly come up short to leaders from 10+ years ago. To anyone that thinks I'm beating a dead horse, I'll cut to the chase, I GET IT. However in some cases, getting the original figure is the better scenario and IMO, likely will be should Magnus be retooled into Galaxy Prime. I highly doubt a retooled Magnus as Galaxy Prime will have a functional matrix chamber, removable matrix, retractable battle mask, ratchets all over, et al. If people like something that amounts to less than that, that's fine. I might even grab it if it looks great but it would be hard to convince me given how good Galaxy Prime already is from 2006.
Updates do not always retain gimmicks. Generations rattrap is not a flip changer, generations optimal Optimus is missing a transformation and adds a gimmick, tr triggerhappy/slugslinger/misfire/hot rod/kup are all missing their targetmasters and have headmasters instead, potp battletrap has individual bot modes, tr Krok can transform, the monsterbots weren’t headmasters, half of combiner wars wasn’t originally combiners. Not everything needs to be the same as the original and “better” or “surpassing the original” is subjective
You know, that's much harder, Magnus has zero color blocking. Does anyone find the Siege Transformation interesting, the front bumper and grill fold up through open cab windows over the cab and into the back pack. Took me a while to figure out. So the Backpack is really important it hides the vehicle mode front facade. The gray piece in the center of the windows is the double hinge bar.
agree to disagree all you want, but the fact is that better is subjective. better can mean different things to different people
If you are talking about vehicle to white optimus robot mode, it looks like you just turn the torso section 180 degrees and then hinge the backplate upwards similar to how classics prime transformed his front bumper.
Ah, ok, that makes more sense. That front end had me puzzled as well. I guess I arrived at the same conclusion as you when I was looking through these pics. Depending if the whole back section is pinned in or just clipped in, I may just pop it off all together.
Here's a quick and dirty edit: I didn't take as much time as I could have, so the edges between colors are a bit sloppy, but it shows generally how a Powered Convoy colors scheme would work. I really hope we get one this time, as I'm a huge fan of Powered Convoy's color scheme.
Did Delta Magnus ever have the inner robot? Just curious. I know a Transformers release would be called Delta Magnus (and maybe the inner robot would be Magna Convoy/Magna Prime), but I'm only really versed in the Diaclone aspect of his origins, so I instinctively referred it it as such.
