Bovine Bell Clappers like that are quite normal, and a good sign of "productivity potential" the lower they hang.
Don't worry though, they retract when they get used. but, too much testosterone leads to... competition.

That's Mr Caboose, and Hungy. 5 years old, and 8.

Polled, thats what you call a cow without horns. But we've got the horn gene in our breed stocks (Pinzgauer, Charolais), but either they get "haircuts" if we plan to keep them, otherwise we ship them off soon as they're of age. No sense keeping the injury risk, more for the cows safety than ours. I call them Handle Bars..

This is Crowe, my second bottle boy, third in his family generation. Hungy > Grayson > Crowe.
    20180417_135722.jpg

This was back in April. I'm keeping him but you can see those little buttons on his noggin, and so.... he got a haircut.

    20180417_144058.jpg
Don't worry, he didn't feel a thing. Honest, he got localized anaesthesia. We worked with the vet to do this.
in juicy details... dehorning when they're young is best.
basically carving the horn out of the skull before it has a chance to expand into the bone, catch it while its still latent cartilage. What happens is Doc uses a dehorning iron, super heated ring of metal, cauterizing the nerve tissue burns the area down to the literal root point of the horn, and then a clipping device called a barnes dehorner. Think of a mellon baller on tubular bolt cutter handles. And then a final press with the iron to close the tissue.
.. soon as doc was done, Crowe saw me shake his afternoon bottle and ran over for it, he was fine.

Recovery was smooth, since Crowe's in the stable I kept it treated daily. It fleshed over again in a few weeks and his hair grew in like he was naturally polled.

    That's him this week.

Back on topic, now I want a gray repaint of Red Bull...

This kind of unrelated discussion is the perfect kind. Like you could totally justify it being here.

Damn, my parents parents used to have cows and bulls. We should have kept farming... (dad used to have his own that he helped deliver with birth and moms had hers to). City life, getting married etc. Looking at how much money there's to be made in farming and just how good it is being around animals (cept for the smell), it's a damn shame almost no one in our family does it anymore. I remember going on vacation to visit grandma's and really loving these animals when I was a child.

Enjoy it and keep farming man. Everyone I know that used to have animals misses being out of that game. The biggest fools went on to work in factories like tools not knowing just how good they actually had it.

Thanks, I don't mean to drag this thread off topic, but it's better than the dozen or so "BUMP! is it out yet?!" posts and cow pictures makes everything fun. Besides, come to the "Let's See your Gundams!" thread, I post calf pictures all the time for the ones I name after Mobile Suits (Jegan, Jesta, Sazabi, Sinanju, Nightingale, and their root mother Mineva). Logic loophole is "I built them!"

I won't deny when we first got started nearly 30 years ago, I was a brat who didn't want to be here, but I had a moment in college where I decided "hang on dad, I'm coming home." bagged my art supplies and left class, went to the field and then after getting a hydraulic bath from a blown part on the tractor and dad sent me back to school. I was going to VSU which is local anyway, so I made the juggling act. got my Art Degree and I'm better at raking a hay field and tossing bulls and bales, than throwing clay pots.

I'll get back to you on the "good money" part... market fluctuations on beef cattle prices and jumps in feed costs for soybean hulls, blame the Chicago Board of Trade and the guy who said "Tariffs are Fun!" I lost money at the market a couple months ago. Prime steers, and a 950 lb bull we kept too long only brought us $0.77 a pound.... and then came the feed bills, fertilizer bills, and repair bills... but enough of that noise.
It's rewarding work, emphasis on the work. and your family can appreciate the reward of pulling calves. Mr Caboose up there was a rescue story, and his boy Goldberg too. We thought Caboose was coming out backwards because after four hours of watching his mother in labor, the first thing we saw coming out "the chute" was an upside down hoof. Doc thought it was a breach, but no. it was his arm, just a quick twist, push and tug and boom.. "Hello, my name is Caboose!" even has a "C" blaze on his back. Pinzgauer color feature.
...and then there's Goldberg... 90 pounds at birth, big calf, had to pull him too but we had to cage his mother to retrieve the 50 lbs of afterbirth he left behind... gooey..

This sounds weird but you’re entire existence on this website and in this fandom is brilliant. Like they say we attract all kinds of people in here but nobody would expect some guy with a bunch of cows and bull is a tf and gundam fan. I Salute to you sir!

Rather than a generic BUMP, I'll let Vega ask if there's anything new.

Yeah this is definitely taking more liberties with the design compared to their first release for this line, where they really got the Optimus Primal design from the book pretty much spot on

Back on topic, no news but an observation. I said this before but this is what a tf should look like. The proportions are perfect. The diaper bothers (new mp prime/megs), ft cyclonus monkey etc all just lack so hard in that area.

It’s so weird. Like this is probably one of the best sideswipe bot modes I’ve ever seen. The aesthetic is iconic. The sculpt is stunning. And the articulation is incredible. It’s just so weird that he turns into a bull and not a car.

I find the cow discussion more interesting than the figure discussion.

It's a nice change from the usual "discussion" on scale.

Sometimes, i wish i had huge land and money to have a cow and a baby one too, as pets / buddies.... Maybe some chicken and pig and duck and sheep too while we are at it... and a few dogs to protect them from the coyotes / wolves / hawks...

Anyways, i was thinking this G-11 would be my MP Sideswipe, vs the BC version which i have red alert from. I just hope it will have a nice paint finish that will make it somewhat compatible on the MP shelf...
