how many is a lot of faulty MPs? If so many wind up having QC issues, why do you still get them? Since the beginning of Prime Wars, which was when I started collecting transformers again, between all of Prime Wars and Studio Series, I've had one QC issue. One of the mirrors on Stinger's vehicle mode wasn't on the figure.

Off the top of my head, my Ultra Magnus had broken elbow ratchets, Star Saber had broken elbow ratchets, sloppy/chipped paint on more carbots than I can keep track of, there's the MP dinobot shoulder ratchet... This stuff goes back all the way to MP5 having cosmic rust and whatnot. It's nice to have a "pristine" figure of these guys almost as an insurance policy for me, although it does take up a lot of space.

I keep buying them because youre always going to have flaws in a physical item that requires moving parts. When you're touching something as much as we do with these guy, something is bound to go wrong even if it came perfect. But I don't buy retail TFs. I wouldn't know what the QC on them is like anymore because I quit years ago when they took a nosedive to me.

that sucks man. Honestly, if I had that many QC issues on such expensive figures, I wouldn't get them anymore.

Yeah I thought about it for a while but ultimately decided to just end up buying one of each guy and not two for a while. Luckily the more recent figures I haven't had many issues with.

my collection is a mix of MISB and loose so I appreciate the toys in both forms.

I do disagree with "parking" money on toys and flipping them later.. but that's not what I am doing - I just got one for myself.

I guess what I am saying is..... I can see myself leaving it sealed, appreciating it in the box for a few years, and then selling it. I was just wondering if TT mall exclusives are more sought after a few years after release.

Fair enough, surely you're appreciating the box not the toy in the case of MISB collecting though? Especially with MP who's boxes are windowless. If you like the boxes so much why not display them with the toy? No one will notice you've cut the tape! However I've never really understood MISB collecting, seems like it's just holding stuff in stasis for future collectors to open.

Some real nice photos going around, but I don't think I've seen any of Cheetor wearing the mutant mask or the arm communicator. Does nobody own both Shadow Panther and Cheetor or something? :lol

Considering this instead of Cheetah if a reissue doesn't come along soon. Then I'd be in for the shadow team...
Of course Beast Wars are soooo far down on my list.

    Got my Shadow Panther today.

Gotta say, if one wants the mold and has no attachment to Beast Wars instead, get this one. The fixed shoulders are a great improvement.

Forgive the terrible quality as unfortunately I shake too bad to do much better Haha. I don't have the mutant mask on him due to the tusks on the mask being black. Hopefully you can make out the communicator on both Cheetor's arms. Also the pic looks sideways, not sure why that is.

Shadow Panther only has 31 pages compared to almost 700 for dinobot.

Agree with you, to me, buying a toy is to enjoy playing with it and enjoy owning it, is not just because what others had, one must also have it.

I don't think we'll see another BW MP rival it. It was the perfect mix of "How the hell will they do it?" and "He's my favourite character!".

At this point I'm gonna wait until they do a new run of cheetor with the better shoulders to pick him up. No point in working my ass off on the used market for something that will inevitably receive an improved-on release down the line.

A quick word of warning for those who bought Shadow Panther. I went to transform mine today and his left arm just fell off under no pressure at all.

I have taken the shoulder apart and the central yellow piece that is pinned to the yellow ‘catch’ piece that drops down had crumbled into four separate pieces.

I’m going to attempt a repair but I don’t rate my chances as the fragments are small and there isn’t much material to work with when gluing.

Unfortunately the texture of the yellow plastic they’ve used here reminds me distinctly of MP9B’s knees.
